Chapter 18 - Goodbye

"I think we should merge the two of it becuase if we don't it won't be strong in the future. The stock is currently going up and down these days so it's not stable just like we hope." My dad said.

"I don't think we should merge it.." I said.

"Me too dad.. the risk is quite high, I don't think we should gamble about this." Axel said and I nodded.

"But by merging it we can control the two wi-"

"Dad.. Remember that we lost 2 million dollars?" Axel cut him.

"I know but still..."

"Dad.. I know we have millions but still it's a lot of money." I said and my dad sighed.

"Okay fine.. I'll let you two handle it. I trust you boys." He said and I nodded. With that agreement, he left the meeting room leaving me and Axel alone.

"You okay?" He asked and I turned to him raising my eyebrows.

"You seem to love works these days."

"Yeah.."

"Is everything okay?"

"Nothing.. Just trying to distract myself." I said looking at the file in front of me blankly.

"What's up.. losers.." We both turned our heads to see Joan walked inside the room with a plastic bag of foods.

"Speaking of you my twin.. I saw Irene kissing another guy." She said and my body tensed.

"I don't care."

"Don't care? Okay then." Joan said as she sat across me. She smirked looking at my direction.

"Joan.." Axel warned.

"It's okay to feel jealous.. my twin." She smirked knowing that I'm starting to get pissed.

"Where did you see her?" Axel asked it for me.

"I will answer if Joel ask for it." Joan said as she crossed her arms in front of her chest and I sighed. I stood up and walked out with Joan calling my name. I went straight to the parking lot and get into my car.

I found myself drive unconsciously to Irene's bakery. I parked right in front of it. I turned my head to the window to find her. Where is she?

I got out from my car and walked inside the bakery. It's empty, I looked around and there's only one employee behind the cashier. I sighed and planned to go back out but when I turned my body towards the door, Irene walked in.

My breath got hitch when I saw her holding a big bouquet of roses. Our eyes met and the both of us just stayed silent. I took a really deep breath. I walked pass her and walked towards the door when suddenly she caught my arm. I turned my head to her.

"Can you stay here for a bit? I want to give you something." She said and I found myself nodding. She walked into the kitchen and then I sat down on one of the seats at the corner of the bakery.

I leaned my body back to the seat and closed my eyes.

I was trying to control the inner beast within me because it makes me want to kiss her, hug her, touch her and.. do something that she won't like.

"Joel.." She called and I shot my eyes open. She sat across me with 2 cups of hot tea and a cheese cake on the table. I looked at her confuse.

"You saved me last time.. I just wanted to say thankyou." She said and I nodded weakly.

"Thankyou.. Joel." She said and I looked down to the ground still trying to control my inner beast.

"Do I really.. Do I really don't have any chance left?" I asked but not dare to look up.

"I'm too late huh?" I asked again.

"You already have someone else right?"

"At first being with you was quite challenging.. I never believe that being with you is a reality because you're a total prince charming that every girls love. You're like a fairytale to me and you're my first in everything Joel.. that's why I cherish you a lot."

"As the time goes by.. I was starting to think that I'm somekind of a bet between you guys until I sneaked around the 7 Gold Kids a lot to find out if you're playing something on me or not." She said and I still looked down.

"You started to be with other girls.. You love the spotlight, the girls, the attention that people give you and just.. everything about pride and popularity.. you love it when I'm the opposite of you." I sighed and got up from my seat.

"I get it.. I get it." I said and tried not to look at her because I won't be able to control myself if I set my eyes on her again.

"I'm going.. I have a lot of work tomorrow." I reasoned out.

"You should go take a rest." She said.

"You know Irene.. My heart still belongs to you. I don't think I can look at another person and start to fall in love all over again. I can't do that. I regret all of the things that I did to you. I wish I can turn back time just to restart everything and treat you better than last time." I said truthfully and then walked pass her.

"Joel.." She called and I stopped walking.

"I'm moving." My heart froze.

"Don't tell me where because you know I will-"

"I'm moving to New Zealand." She cut me.

"But you have a dream here t-"

"I'm not happy here and I want to find my happiness somewhere else and I choose New Zealand."

"Okay then.. Goodluck.." I said in a weak tone.

"Thanks.. Joel.. You too."
