Bella:
"Don't be nervous, sweetie." My mom says wrapping her arm around me as we exit the hospital and enter the cold autumn breeze. She rubs her hand up and down my bicep soothingly.
"How could I not be? You're probably going to have surgery as soon as those labs come back." I say in a shrill voice. I wrap an arm around my mother as we cross the street and over into the hospital's overflow parking lot.
"I'm going to be fine, Bella." We stop just outside of the car as she turns to face me giving me a kiss on the forehead. "I promise."
I give her a hug and quickly wipe away the lone tear that decided to escape. One of my biggest fears is losing my mom and the second one is being alone forever. If I loose her then two of my biggest fears become a reality.
I move over and climb into the passenger seat of my moms SUV. She invested in one since we moved to Boston, we heard the winter weather can be a pain in the behind.
I immediately turn on my butt warmer, relaxing once my buns begin to feel toasty. It's been two weeks and my mom seems to be doing fine. I just got a check up done with new doctors to make sure everything is alright with me. They say that my moms cancer has not progressed and it's still a stage two. Which is good news.
They want to remove the tumor from her breast as soon as all of her blood work and different tests come back. Of course my mom would have to agree with that course of treatment first. I was really nervous for her. I just wanted her to be happy and healthy.
Once we get home I head straight to the kitchen and begin making my moms favorite tea. Just because her cancer hasn't progressed doesn't mean it's not taking the usual toll on her. Plus, she's still been trying to push through her workload. I've put in many applications to various stores and fast food places but nothing's really taken off.
I place the tea down on the coffee table. My moms eyes were trained on her laptop as she read over something. I sigh quietly before leaving her to do her work. I know that no matter how hard I fight she'll continue to work.
I head up stairs to my bedroom and finish up any homework assignments before laying down and turning Netflix on. I turn on The Office and lean back into bed, this show is freaking hilarious. It's one of the best shows I've ever watched. I could feel my mood brighten as I laugh at Dwight who believes Jim is talking to him when in reality Jim is talking to Pam via Bluetooth.
...
"Good morning, Boston! It's September twentieth and there will be some sun shine throughout the day as temperatures reside in the mid fifties."
I shot out of bed quickly, causing me to fall off and bust my nonexistent butt on the ground. I groan loudly and roll over on the floor. Jesus Bella, could you be anymore of a klutz? I reach up to my night stand and turn the loud obnoxious radio station off. I definitely need to lower the volume on that thing.
