Onodera's eyes fluttered open to see familiar eyes that haunted every crevice of his mind.
"Hello, Angel." Alarms signaled within his head. Why was I here? Where was Misaki?
"Where's Misaki?"
Saga-Sempai's gaze sharpened at his inquiry. "With Akihiko."
Onodera moved to sit up but was stopped by resistance, looking up, he found his wrists chained to the bedpost.
"With who? W-what is this?" he asked, glaring at the man who essentially kidnapped him.
"I'm not risking you leaving me."
Onodera struggled against the chains, he was determined to get to Misaki. "Let me go." The angel attempted to release himself from the chains, but to no avail, his attempts were futile.
"Tell me, Oda," mentioned person looked up expectantly to the demon. "Why did you leave me?"
Onodera recoiled from the accusation, creating a symphony of chains clanging together.
"Why did I leave you?"
Masamune was confused at the outrage expressed in the usually mild-mannered tone of the angel.
"You used me!" Onodera shouted for the years of anguish that he was not able to express how deeply he was hurt.
"I was humiliated! C-Can you understand that? I opened my heart out for you, and y-you laughed in my face. " Tears welled up within his eyes and slowly slid down the apple of his cheeks.
"You used me," he whimpered, bowing his head in anguish.
"No, I did not." Masamune countered quietly, so soft it resembled a whisper.
"Why else then? Why else would you lay with me, and upon asking for your feelings and confessing my own, you laugh in my face?"
"Oda, I love you."
Onodera could not stop the flow of tears that overflowed as the humiliation of his past welled up inside him.
"No! No, you don't! Don't you dare lie to me!" The bound man struggled harder against the chains that held him captive.
"Stop. Stop Oda," Masamune whispered into the open air, tears welling up in his own eyes at the loss of his lover. "I was nervous. After everything we had done together, I thought my feelings were obvious. You already had my whole heart, I just was not ready to admit that you had it. I was hurt, I was bitter. You understand right? But I swore you had it. You had my heart."
Onodera's heart clenched with lingering pain, the heartache contributed to his tears.
"I was confused," he paused, "I was hurt. You hurt me so much. Maybe I could learn to forgive you, perhaps not today, or tomorrow, but one day."
Masamune nodded in acceptance and leaned his forehead against Onodera's, taking him in after so many years.
Suddenly Onodera's body seized, memories flashed vividly through his mind. "No!" he screamed panicked, the pain blinding his perception of time and space. He was no longer in an unknown bedroom, but the Saga-Sempai's bedroom that day.
His mind playing Masamune laughing at him on repeat. His heart nearly burst within his chest. He wasn't sure what would happen this time. Would he survive? His mind told him wouldn't.
"No No No! Please!" Onodera begged in his panicked state.
He was sure he would break this time.

Masamune could only watch as his love screamed, helpless.
"No No No! Please!"
It was as if he was being attacked, Masamune clenched his fists.
"Oda," he called out, but the angel showed no recognition.
Crimson welling up on pale skin caught his eyes, they darted to the pale arms.

There were straight-lined cuts across the length of his kouhai's arm.

Masamune let out a shaky sigh at the revelation; his Oda, his sweet Oda, his beautiful kouhai. He had caused him so much pain.
"I am so sorry..."
"Sempai." The angel whimpered, his eyes closed.
Masamune rushed back to his side, "I'm here Oda, I'm here."
Masamune decided that he would always protect him, better than before. He would be better for this angel.
"I love you," he whispered. He pressed his lips upon Oda's forehead, slowly the angel's body relaxed and his tears stopped.
The demon released Oda from the chains and cradled the wounded arm.
"Masamune."
Akihiko stood at the door disheveled, seemingly haunted.
"It happened to the angel I brought as well. His human wounds seemed fresh and he was in great distress."
Masamune nodded digesting the new information.
"It would seem that both angels take comfort in our presence. I had pulled him out by linking our subconscious' together."
Masamune stayed silent, taking in every bit of detail that he could about his angel and the new information that was brought to him.
"What do you think happened?"
He shrugged, "We will have to ask the angels. This does not have anything to do with demon culture or anatomy, this is unlike anything I have seen before."
Akihiko agreed.
"We should get some rest."
Akihiko left, closing the door quietly.
"I'll see you in the morning, Angel," Masamune whispered and brushed his lips to the angel's temple before tugging the blanket over their two forms.
He closed his eyes, unaware of the smile that dawned Oda's unconscious form.
