“Now I know I put a majority of them in the brig.” Louis stated as he felt Harry begin keeping pace beside him.

The male made no verbal reply and the prince sighed beneath his breath while the two walked across the deck.

He could already predict the awkward silence between them to be unbearably crushing, for him at the very least. How Harry would take the stiff atmosphere would be a mystery because it was obvious he wouldn’t show his discomfort physically.

Louis could have hit his head against wall.

At least knowing the two of them were suffering from the tenseness between them together would have been the slightest bit encouraging, but for all he knew Harry probably just didn’t care at all.

That had to be one trait he liked about Harry if anything.

Although his apathy stretched to an unhealthy degree a majority of the time, Louis had to admit that just not caring about certain things could save you a lot of stress in the long run.

As Harry’s footsteps began going ahead of his, Louis found his eyebrows creasing before he picked up his speed, not allowing the taller male to overtake him when they made it to the entrance to the lower decks.

Grabbing hold of the doorknob, the prince pulled open the wooden door and turned his head to give Harry’s face a brief look.

The pirate captain’s eyes cut over to look at him and when they made eye contact, Louis attempted to remain composed.

Impassive as ever, Harry’s green irises didn’t seem to shine with the slightest bit of emotion and every other facial feature of his was at a neutral stand still.

If there was ever a time that he wished he could read minds, it would have to be right then because sometimes Harry was just so guarded.

“After you.” Louis simply spoke while his hand gestured inside with a nod.

The brunet had the tiny expectation for Harry to smile or show some sort of reaction to his action, however his results came up short much to his disappointment.

“Thank you.” He lowly replied, his gaze fleeting from Louis’s face and back ahead.

After Harry walked in and began descending the steps, the royal frowned slightly as he followed behind.

He severely doubted Harry was angry with him. Though his current attitude was kind of leaning toward that implication… Or perhaps Louis was just looking into it a bit much?

They managed to get the books from down in the brig and set them back in Harry’s study before going back out and setting their sights on the rest.

Harry was ridiculously silent and Louis wanted more than anything to just stab something because he felt so out of place.

What was Harry thinking about? Was he upset at Louis for lashing out at him about the secret? If he was, why was he even helping Louis with getting all the books in the first place?

Too many questions bothered his mind and the prince couldn’t help but slowly begin to stress himself out about it.

He didn’t even know why he was worrying, he just was.

Then there was the topic of the damn German Princess that just about gave his stomach nausea and his body the chills.

Being back on the ship wasn’t supposed to have him on edge like he was.

As the two made their way back into Harry’s quarters with another set of books in their arms, Louis released a breath of relief, “These are the last of them.”  He moved toward the book shelf that still had a pile of books before it and dropped his load on top.
