His right hand held onto the sturdy cup tightly… Or at least he tried to hold onto it tightly.

He didn’t know why his body still felt so on edge.

Louis attempted to bring the cup of water to his mouth while he leaned against the railing of the ship passively.

Even though he and Harry’s little friction induced moment had only lasted half a minute and had finished what felt to be centuries ago, Louis still felt the after effects of it in his body, practically to his core.

His face felt warm and his heartbeat was still thumping faster than normal, not to mention his nerves just felt the urge to just quiver so much so that the royal was forcibly keeping himself steady.

Louis allowed for his lips to partially part and allow some of the lukewarm liquid into his mouth, though it was only a tiny sip and right after he lowered his hand, he swallowed.

Why did he even get the water in the first place?

He didn’t feel like drinking it.

Not at all.

As he moved to place the cup on the ground, his eyes looked down toward the lower decks where the crew members were beginning to extinguish the flames and pack away all the crates.

The night ended so quickly.

But that was one of the last things on his mind.

Louis just couldn’t get Harry’s expression after lashing out on him out of his head.

Had what he said been too harsh? At the time, he really hadn’t thought so.

Harry had been prying when he shouldn’t have, it was only natural for someone to get upset when they didn’t have enough space.

He shouldn’t be having second thoughts about saying what he did.

Then again, the way he snapped was partially uncalled for—

“Aren’t you lonely up here?” Zayn’s voice questioned in amusement, immediately breaking Louis out of his bubbled up thoughts.

The brunet blinked his eyes, his hand running through his fringe briefly while he turned to look at the male that just finished ascending up the stairs, a friendly smile marked on his face while he regarded Louis openly.

It took Louis a moment to get over his surprise before he snorted, his lips contorting into a scowl before he glanced back out to sea. He grabbed hold of the wooden railing with both of his hands with a slight huff, “Did Harry send you to keep me company or something?” He distastefully inquired and at the same time, the royal felt his second thoughts on arguing with Harry threaten to evaporate entirely.

However, Zayn just let out a short laugh while his hands went into his coat’s pockets leisurely.

From that, Louis could already assess that it wasn’t the case and he allowed his guard to drop significantly.

“No, not at all. I came up here to give you company myself. Though I suppose I should ask for permission and all that first…” He muttered out playfully as he took a spot beside the prince.

Louis scowled, “Do whatever you want. I don’t really care.”

For some reason the words left his tongue with a bit of bitterness.

His own mouth was beginning to betray him. The last thing he needed was Zayn thinking the little fight with Harry was truly bothering him.

After his words, Zayn released a short whistle, his eyes gazing out at the dark abyss that was the Caribbean Sea unreadably, “Though I can’t help but wonder if everything’s seriously okay between you two.” He spoke lightly, “I probably seem really nosey right now and I apologize, but Harry didn’t kiss you at the end of that like he usually does and you looked pretty pissed off.”
