Finding something to truly occupy himself with sounded like an easy task at first, Louis had to admit.
There was nothing he wanted more than to completely get his mind off of the whole ordeal going on with Harry, Nick, and the engagement.
He had a feeling he was going through several phases of accepting the whole news because the shock that he’d been going through before seemed to be running down into a new position composed of denial.
He shouldn’t even be going through a fit as he was.
Considering the factors, he knew it was coming and for the longest time.
He was twenty, he was the heir to throne, and there was also the fact that his little sister had already gotten engaged not too long ago due to him…
This kind of news shouldn’t be so shocking to him and yet it was.
Louis tried to cloud away those thoughts by staying inside of Harry’s cabin. There wasn’t much he could actually do besides wait at this point.
Since coming back on, he’d dropped Harry’s coat on the chair within the captain’s study and began to distract himself by playing with Dusty.
The kitten was still small but compared to how it’d once been when she first came onboard the ship and the amount of energy she had gained over the weeks made her an easy distracter for Louis to point all his attention to until Harry returned.
With a single ribbon that he’d stolen—borrowed, from Eleanor he’d kept himself idle by watching the ginger kitten go out and about for it.
There were instances where Dusty actually won over the ribbon from his grasp and Louis ended up chasing her around the room in order to get it back and those made his fingers get scratched a bit too much for his liking but he managed.
By the fourth time it happened, Louis had to grunt as he attempted to reach over for the ribbon that was already caught in the feline’s mouth. Dusty recoiled causing Louis’s fingers to miss the end of the ribbon by a few centimeters.
“Dusty, no! Give it back!” He voiced out to the kitten that began to scurry off with the piece of cloth still in her mouth.
He debated on getting off of his butt to actually get up and chase her around the room or just chasing after her on all fours without really raising up from the floor.
Sighing, he weighed his options while he watched the kitten run behind Harry’s desk, which was the place she’d always run to in order to evade Louis so he wouldn’t take back what she thought was hers.
He didn’t even feel like moving.
It must have been hours since he came back on the ship and Harry still wasn’t back yet.
What could he and Nick be doing that could possibly take hours discuss?
