CHAPTER TWO: princesses • parties

Mackenzie

"Why don't you go over there then?" Brynn slaps my shoulder lightly. The whole day I brought up about inviting the bad boys and I know Ruby and Brynn were getting tired of hearing it.

It just won't leave my mind. A part of me is saying there is some good in them but also I'm too afraid of them. I cross my legs turning myself around giving a quick glance at them by their lockers.

I twist myself back around unwinding my legs. Brynn raises an eyebrow as I let out a quiet sigh. "Alright I will ." I smile and both or their mouths drop. I shrug my shoulders turning around. My feet make there little steps as I approach them.

I'm almost got to one of them when I can't catch my balance and I end up falling right to the ground. I quickly get up before anyone could say or see anything but the whole hallway already saw. They come up to me asking if I was okay. I simply smile and not picking myself up. I run my hands down my side and brush off any dirt from the ground.

I give them a glance and one opens their mouth as if they are going to say something but they don't. I was pretty scared so I just walked away "sorry to disturb the princess" I hear one of them yell thinking their funny.

I turn around as I'm walking and I see it's the boy with the green eyes I happened to make eye contact with st lunch. He gives me a quick wink and I turn around fast and speed walk to Brynn and ruby. They both grab each of my arms and we walk to class.

"They are jerks." Brynn says narrowing her eyes at them. I chuckle and shake my head. "Total bitches" Ruby adds in.

"Guys it's fine. Maybe they will change someday. Everyone has a good side. I can see it" I move my head away from the green eye boy. He seemed different than the rest. He gave me a smile as I turned my head back around.

"Mackenzie your too nice." The girls joke and I laugh as we keep walking. A part of me wanted to be mad at him for tripping me but I also felt weird. He smiled at me when no one else did. They all just gave me looks

"Your such a player boi. 2 girls in one week!?" I heard loud guys voices laughing back by the lockers. I knew it was the bad boys. I turned my head and say everyone pushing the one green eyed boy as he laughed and gave everyone high fives.

Maybe he's not so different.

"Please Mackenzie. If there's any messes promise me you'll clean it up sweetie?" My mom panics grabbing her phone and her purse. She was in the kitchen practically yelling cause she didn't know if I could hear her.

"Of course mom." I chuckle as she makes her way over to me.

"I'll be back tomorrow afternoon and don't let any of those icky bad boys through our doors" she kisses my forehead and walks out the front door. I sigh and drop on the couch waiting for the first people.

I had already set up everything 2 hours early. My birthday is in 2 days and I'm celebrating it early. My mom went on a business trip so she isn't here but she doesn't mind if I have a party I just have to follow you known her rules.

I decided to throw on a really pretty white Lacey dress with cute cross cross backing. My hair was recently cute so it's like middle length. I had it curled wavy like and it was parted down the middle. As for makeup Maddie begged to do it so I let her.

Everything was going to be perfect. Just me spending my normal birthday with my friends.

So I thought....
