CHAPTER NINE: sirens • dark side

I rush downstairs hearing police sirens swarming the area. It was at least 10 house down from ours but man it was loud. I open the life white curtains and look down my right eyeing what was going on.

"That Orlando boy is arrested again" my mom scoffs rolling her eyes.

Again?

I slowly back away and slide my arms closing the curtains. I turn around and drop down backwards on the couch. Someone must have found out about Hayden's car.

My phone goes off and I look down swiping right opening up the message.

Johnny~ fuck someone found out!!

Johnny~ please don't tell me it was you!?

Johnny~ I swear when I get out I'm going to beat the shit out of Hayden

I swallow scared and press my screen and start to move my fingers.. my hands were shaking and I was getting heated.

Me~ I swear it wasn't me!

Me~ john language!? You promised me you wouldn't swear as much

Me~ what did your parents think?

I shut my phone off and set it down next to me. My body was frozen and my eyes were open wide. Not blinking. Who found out? It must have just been Hayden.

I sit up and walk to the front door "I'm going to check the mail mom!" I lie yelling so she can hear and before I can open the door she comes rushing over

"Hurry back. I don't want that boy near you. Okay?" She worries touching my shoulders. I chuckle a little and sigh "I won't mom" I pull open the door and make my way down our very long driveway.

I turn my head as I slowly walk so I can see what's going on. It was Johnny house with 2 police cars parked on the road. The door was opened with the 2 police men talking to his parents. His mom had curly blonde hair and his dad had short brown hair.

Johnny was standing outside by the police and he ran his fingers through his hair irritated while He rolls his eyes and right after he spots me. He slowly takes his hand out of his hair.

Fuck

I widen my eyes and turn around speed walking to the the mailbox. I lift it shut and walk back inside skimming through the envelopes and papers. As I look down reading everything I use my other hand twisting open the door handle not looking up.

Someone pulls my wrist starling me. I drop the mail in my other hand and turn around still in the persons grip. "Johnny you need to go!? My mom... your parents!" I whisper so my mom won't know I'm right by the door with him.

He pulls my hand leading me to the side of my house. I let myself go from his grip and cross my arms. "Please Kenz. You need to help me" he worries as he keeps looking over at his house nervous.

"John babe I heard what happened!" I hear a voice call from behind him. I move my head and see a tall skinny girl. Long dark drown hair. Sophia Rose.

She was the biggest fake I have ever met. I was kind of sad. Everything about me I was questioning now. Was I super fat? Was I ugly. She was super skinny and gorgeous. Why would I feel this way.

I just didn't realize how much he meant to me until I found someone else who means much to him. I would never admit to myself but I think I like Johnny.

But I can't get mad. He's a bad boy and I'm a princess. My lifes not a fairy tale. I don't find true love, I never will. Maybe meeting him was a mistake. I need to start over. Without him. Without getting wrapped up in him.

He turns around and smiles. "So what do you say!" He grinds his teeth together. He grabbed on my arm again and looked at me with those incident puppy eyes.

I smack my lips together mad and pull away my arm forcefully. "Your on your own" I lash back and walk right past him. I wasn't one to ever get mad and be like that but when it comes to seeing someone with Johnny I can't help myself.

I clench my fist walking back to my house and I slowly open my hand to see 4 red slivers bleeding. It was my fingernail marks (riverdale 😂)

I guess 2 of us have a dark side.
