Ryder and I got Rubix settled down in the round pen.
"Hey, Alex, you do know there is a rodeo tonight in Morton county, right?" Ryder asks me when we are walking into the barn.
"No, I didn't know that there was a rodeo that I was going to go to that I hadn't practiced for in like two weeks. You know how I am, you know I enter every possible rodeo that I can enter even if I haven't practiced at all, which by the way, if I didn't say, I haven't practiced at all," I snap at Ryder, even though I was not mad at him at all.
I was just stressed with the arrival of a new horse that used to be my mom's before she quit barrel racing because of a career ending injury. After I said that, Ryder stomped off into the barn. I followed Ryder into the barn.
"Ryder, I-"
That's when he cut me off saying, "You know, never mind, I just thought I would take your mind off of your mom's crazy horse showing up after almost three years and having a reputation of almost killing at least one person."
"Ryder, I am sorry I was rude to you, but you had no right to say that to me especially about my mom's horse. I will meet you at the trailer in half a hour I am taking Rubix and Santana."
