[I know it's actually Jonas in the banner but I couldn't find a better one that showed the lockers and like a person.]

Freja waved Sara, the girl she sat next to in Math, goodbye and made her way down the stairs to her locker.
Her day had been mediocre. Her first few classes had passed her by in a flurry but then the last minutes of the school day had dragged themselves for eternity.
She opened up her locker and exchanged a few books.

"Hei."

She knew who it was before she had even seen his face.

Freja closed her locker and lifted the corner of her mouth in a half smile. "Hei." She said and looked up at the boy standing beside her.

Chris licked his lips and shrugged his shoulders. "I saw you waving yesterday morning. Didn't know if you actually meant me."

Freja tilted her head to the side. "Do you think I meant you? Or do you simply want to think that I meant you? "

He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "I don't kno-" He stopped himself. "Hva?"

"But why would I wave at you, specifically?" The girl continued, rearranging the strap of her backpack on her shoulder. "We don't know each other and this is our first face-to-face conversation ever." She smiled slightly. "So it seems kind of random that you would be the one I was actually waving at." Freja was confusing Chris on purpose to get him to subconsciously drop his exterior attitude. Right now, it seemed like it was working out perfectly and she smiled slightly to herself. "However, there was no one near you besides William Magnusson. Now the question arises as to why I would actually wave at William Magnusson. Certainly not because I know him, since I don't. He has also been treating some of my friends terribly. This lets one come to the conclusion, that I was maybe not waving at William Magnusson but instead at you which brings us back to our first question; Why would I wave at you?"

Chris opened his mouth and then closed it again, gaping at her and her words like a fish on dry land. "I do-" He shook his head, pressing his eyes shut, before gazing back at her in utter confusion. "So you weren't waving at me?" He pointed to his chest with the thumb of his right hand, stuffing the other into the pocket of his jeans.

Freja's smile grew and she took a step closer to him, before leaning in and whispering. "I was waving at you." She clicked her tongue in resolve and brushed past Chris' figure down the hallway.

She stalked off with a smile, causing Chris to spin around and follow her.

"Wait." He yelled and caught up with her a few steps further down the hall. "Why were you waving at me then?"

"Because-" Freja started, reaching towards the door handle before almost getting tackled by the boy who wanted to hold the door open for her. She thanked him and proceeded down the stairs. "Because I was watching William and you. It seemed like you were fighting. I was wondering what your argument was about." Freja blinked up at the boy walking next to her. "Then you looked right back at me and I felt like it would be a weird moment if we just simply stared at each other. So I waved at you, meaning it as a friendly gesture towards a stranger."
