She wouldn't make it to the party.
Freja was in no mood to deal with drunk and horny teenagers all night.
Tomorrow was supposed to be the day that her Dad and her would go and look around the apartment her parents were maybe willing to rent for her. However, the apartment's owner had e-mailed her a few hours ago that the apartment was not up for inspection, rent or sale anymore. Apparently, he still needed it for personal reasons.
So after a complete hysterical breakdown, Freja had called her parents who were away in there cabin for the weekend to let them know that the deal was off. To say that her parents were happy would be an understatement. They were thrilled to bits to hear that their daughter would stay living at home with them for a little longer.
Little did they know that Freja was actually already browsing the internet for new apartments near her school and the city centre. She had hinted at her actions via text but Freja was almost sure that it would end in a whole other discussion with her parents.
However, she needed to move out. Her sister was driving her crazy. Since Liv had come back from her year abroad and was back studying in Oslo, she was home almost all day causing Freja to unintentionally form the wish to jump off a bridge. It was just too much of Liv and since her sister did apparently not feel the need to move out and finally live on her own, the only solution to Freja's problem was her moving out by herself.
After browsing the internet for ages, Freja had found two apartments that were in the price range that her parents were willing to spend (or rather lend her until she was able to pay them back somehow). They were both two cute one-bedroom apartments, both relatively close to the city centre. One was in Dronningensgate which was close to the buildings the military was using. It was considered to be a very safe area which would be a great point to persuade her dad. However, there was also another one in Observatoriegata and whilst looking at the pictures Freja had slowly but surely fallen in love with the place.
It was in a four story house on the last floor, meaning that Freja would live under the pitch of the roof with sloped walls and she loved it. The bathroom was medium-sized with a shower so that meant that she would have to give up having a bath now and then but she was willing to accept that for the sake of this apartment. The kitchen was clean and new and looked very fancy. There was a small living room area that was left open to the kitchen. The bedroom adjoining the living room was small but cozy. There were also some old and dark wooden beams uncovered and they gave the apartment a kind of rusty vibe.
Long story short, Freja was absolutely in love with this apartment and she could already see herself living in it. Not only was it the most beautiful apartment she had ever seen (or so she believed in that moment), it was also closer to school so it would only take her ten minutes on her bike to get to Nissen.
And because her sister was playing loud music again in the room next door, making Freja aware of the fact that she just couldn't wait to finally live on her own or because the apartment was just too gorgeous, she scheduled a meeting to look at both picked out apartments on Monday afternoon. Her Dad was off work on Mondays so she would be able to drag him there and convince him that there was no better place to live than there.
Freja smiled contently as she confirmed both appointments and leaned back in her chair.
She would be out of this mad house in no time. Just as she had finished that thought, the door to her room was ripped open, causing her to spin around in her desk chair.
