Teen Titans: A New Friend or Foe (completed)

Betrayal

=Jump City. 8:45pm= 

It was dark by the time the team -Including Jester- had gotten to the crime scene. The old warehouse was run down and rusty, perfect for a hideout.  

"Carful Jester. Don't make rash actions." Robin warned carefully 

Jester scoffed "please, you think I actually care? I'd rather drown in a pool of sharks than save your prissy little butt, Bird Brain." He looked at his face and smirked knowing he'd won this round.

They wondered around in the dimley lite (freaking dyslexia) room. While the others were looking for clues, Jester was insisted on staying by one of the team mates, he happened to choose Raven. 

"Why're we even looking? There's obviously no one here." Jester stated, obviously bored 

"If we investigate, we find clues and we can track where the criminal is." Raven retaliated with her calm voice

"What is this? Scooby Doo?"

"No in a matter of fact it's-

"RAVEN LOOK OUT!" Robins voice suddenly echoed as a sharp dagger was headed straight for Raven. Luckily she blocked it with her majic and let the metal tool drop to the ground as a cold voice echoed out as well.

"If it isn't the titans and two of my Apretices" Slade said as he stepped out of the Shadows. "Truely Jester I am disappointed, very disappointed. You not only disobeyed me, but by joining the titans you betrayed your father, the king of crime, The Joker." Slade took steps toward him but raven stepped in his way as jester snorted.

"Yeah right. You were just a babysitter, you have no control over me-

"Hell yeah, and that one crazy son of a bitch who does have control is yours truely!" Joker bellowed as he too stepped out into the dim light. "Whaddya say boy, let's ditch this dirty town and fool around with Bats." He said with his iconic laugh of craziness

Raven looked at Jester, as if torn. 

"You can't give in, Jester" she said "You have the chance to be free from control. So take it." 

Jester was staring at the sudden visitors focused on him. He didn't know what to do...deep down he wanted freedom, but he also wanted his father. 

"I...." he studdered and eventually something deep inside came up and snapped "you know what, NO!" He spat un expectedly "I want to be my own person. Even if I am crazy, I be the best damn crazy fighter there is! I'm not going back with Slade, he tortured me for nothing." Jester shot a glare at slade then Joker...the first time...he stood his ground.

"And I'm not going to fuck around with Bats either! As tempting as it sounds I refuse! And guess what else, Father?  I'm in control of myself now." Jester said with a smirk as Robin shouted from somewhere

"TITANS GO!"

Jester imeadiatly bolted at Slade and threw a punch which surprisingly came into contact with Slades mask. 

"Why you little brat!" Slade spat as he swung a right hook, barely missing Jester. "I knew you were a mistake the moment Joker told me about you." He punched again, missing "Haven't you realised he hasn't told you 'I love you' like most fathers? Stealing you from Bruce Wayne was the biggest mistake Joker has made!" Slade spun and kicked Jester square in the back, as he flew and hit the wall. He picked the red head by the fabric on his chest as he pulled out a knife. 

"Don't worry I'll solve this problem" slade growled as he pressed the knife to Jesters neck. Suddenly another raspy deep voice came out of nowhere

"Not on my watch, Slade" instantly the Bat swooped down and tackled the man off the teen. 

Jester ran up behind Batman, leaped up and flipped over him, giving Slade a solid left hook to Slades face which shattered his mask.

"AAARRRG! This isn't the last time we'll see each other, Traitor!" Slade spat in anger as he threw down smoke bombs to evade the battle.

"I almost wasn't expecting you." Batman said to jester, who picked up a solid half of the shattered mask.

Jester scoffed

"I wasn't going to. But anything is better than going back to Mr. Moneybags Wayne." Jester said sneering at his once was enemy as the team walked over. "You got lucky." 

Batman let a silent chuckle out, and noticed something odd.

"Before Slade left, the team was fighting Joker right?" He asked

"Yeah" Beastboy chimed "buuut...."

"He disappeared after the smoke screen cleared out" Robin finished

The Bat opened his mouth but Jester had spoken

"He's still here. We don't give up a fight undecided."

"That's right my boy!" Jokers voice rang out. The team looked around but couldn't find where the clown was. Jester however started running and then leapt on top of a box and jumped onto a support beam and stood up, glaring at a shadow...no at the Joker.

"Jester, you've been a bad boy. Does daddy need to teach you a lesson?" He cooed with his usual smile plastered on his face, smothered in red makeup.

Jester smirked and chuckled. "You wish. I'm my own man, still insane but more free than ever. Ready to get your butt kicked, "father"?"

"Only if you're prepared to be punished after!" Joker growled as he ran up to Jester, swinging his cane, jester dodging. 

Jester jumped over Joker as he threw the iconic sharp cards, which slashed jokers face. Jester kept his distance, fighting Joker and throwing in punches and kicks every so often. Joker ran up to Jester with a punch but Jester dodged and tripped his former father, which now he hung from the beam with his two hands. Jester pulled out his gun which he snuck from the tower.

"Jester NO!" Both Batman and Robin shouted but too late, Jester fired.

A loud bang echoed through out the building, the team looked up to see not only joker still alive, but a flag coming from the gun saying 'gotcha!'. Batman leaped and caught a joker as he fell, passing out from un expected fright. Jester jumped down and the Team swarmed him.

Secretly he enjoyed it.

As the team walked out, the police had arrived and took Joker back to arkham. They started walking and Robin came up beside Jester

"You okay?" Robin asked

"Yeah" jester muttered....he sounded sad

"I know it's hard watching him leave. But you  did the right thing. He raised you to be loyal to him and by staying with the team, you not only fought for yourself, but you proved you are one of the most loyal ever." Robin smiled and gave Jester a device. 

"Congratulations, you're officially a Teen Titan." The team all cheered as well Batman was smiling. 

Jester gripped the communicator and looked at it. "It's defiantly different."

"It'll take some time" raven stated "but I know you'll be able to." She added with a smile

Jester looked at Batman, gaining a smirk "if I do this do I Have to go to Gotham?" 

Batman chuckled "no. I'll tell Bruce, he'll understand. But maybe you can visit every now and then." 

Jester smiled and chuckled, feeling happy for the first time.

"Last one to the tower is cleaning the septic tank!" Beastboy shouted and started bolting. The others soon followed.

Batman watched  the team until he could no longer see them. He smiled and shot his grappling hook and swung into the night.
