Chapter 4: Love

"When did that rascal came back? Why was he with you?" Junhyung couldn't stop questioning as he was obviously triggered by the appearance of Taehyung.

"Brother, calm down. He was merely there as a friend." Qin explained.

"But I'm your best friend! You don't need anybody except for me to celebrate your birthday with you. Except for your parents..."

He spotted the wrapper that Qin was holding on to and got curious.

"What's that?"

Qin quickly hid the present behind her back as she shrugged. "It's none of your business."

"Is that the gift he got for you? How dare he!" Junhyung stomped angrily.

"Brother, it's only a gift. You don't have to be so angry because of him."

That sentence definitely hit the trigger and Junhyung burst.

"It's only a gift?! I'm the only one person who could give you a present! He don't even know you as long as I do. How could he know what you like?"

"Brother, why are you so angry?" Qin couldn't understand the sudden outburst of Junhyung. She knew he had a bad temper but this was just ridiculous.

"Because he was flirting with you! And I hate that! I am the only one who's suitable to you!" He retaliated harshly and Qin flinched.

"You should throw the gift away." Junhyung attempted to reach towards the wrapper but Qin quickly stood back.

"No!" She shouted unknowingly.

"Q-Qin. Do you have feelings for him?" Junhyung's sudden question made her blushed.

"I...it's not that. It's just, you don't have to throw a temper for a stranger."

Junhyung noticed that he had offended his best friend and he quickly apologised.

"I'm sorry Qin. You know I care for you a lot and I really don't want you to get hurt."

Qin sighed. Of course she knew. And that was all she asked for.

"I know." She said.

"Qin. Listen to me carefully." Junhyung tone of voice had a sudden change as he sounded confident.

"I love you! Please be my girlfriend!"

The confession strucked Qin so hard that she didn't know how to react. It was like time had stopped and Qin needed to hear that for a second time to make sure she hadn't mistaken.

"I'm willing to marry you despite the risk that I will be cursed for life! Qin," He looked deeply in to her eyes, hands reaching out for hers gently as he breathed nervously too. "W...would you...be my wife?"

Now things were going way too fast for her to grasp and she felt dizzy. First, she was asked to be his girlfriend. Now, he wanted her to be his wife.

Qin was absolutely dumbstruck and speechless. She knew deep down, she might have developed feelings for Junhyung. He was the only friend she could trust and she knew he wouldn't let her down.

But what if she brings harm to him? What if their eight characters don't match? Whatever the future may be, Qin wanted to experience love.

She couldn't stop herself from grinning as she nodded timidly.

"A...are you for real?! You really accept me as your boyfriend?!" Junhyung couldn't believe his luck. He had wanted this moment for a very long time.

Qin nodded once again and Junhyung screamed with joy. He punched a fist into the air and embraces Qin tightly.

Qin returned the hug happily as well.
