Toothless's POV

Hiccup was snatched from the boat. I didn't even see it coming. I growled and jumped onto the mast in the middle of the boat.  I roar ready to 'attempt' to get to Hiccup, but then the familiar coloring and designs of Hookfang made me relax a little.

I could hear Hiccup telling them to put him down, but they didn't seem to want to listen. Hiccup wiggles out of Hookfang's hold and glides down with his flight-suit. A few nest were close to catching him, and I was surprised at how well he was maneuvering, normally his flight suit gives him limited options.

Hiccup lands on the ship and I jump down next to him.

"What are you guys doing here!?" He asked Gobber on Grump land on the ship with a thump.

"We are here to rescue you!" He says pointing with his...weird limb.

"I don't need to be rescued!" Hiccup protested. Stoick lands with a rather angry face.

"Enough!" He says with authority.  He hops off of Skullcrusher. Eret blocks his way, feeling cocky and confident.

"Well didn't you just pick the wrong ship, eh? I am Eret, son of-" He was cut off as Stoick shoves his face aside. Gobber clubs him and he falls to the ground. I let out a small laugh but then turn back to the angry Stoick.

"You," He said pointing at Hiccup. "Saddle up, were going him."

"No." Hiccup retorts.

"Of all the irresponsible!" Stoick starts but Hiccup interrupts.

"I'm trying to protect our dragons and stop a war! How is that irresponsible?"

"Because war is what he wants, son!" He shouted making everyone flinch. Hiccup glares, frustrated. Stoick sighs.

"Years ago there was a great gathering of chieftains to discuss the dragon scurage we all faced." He started everyone even the dragons and Eret's crew were listening intently.

"Into our midst came a stranger from a strange land, covered in scars and draped in a cloak of dragon skins. He carried no weapons and spoke softly, saying that he, Drago Bludvist, was a man of the people, devoted to freeing mankind from the tyranny of dragons. He claimed that he alone could control the dragons and that he alone could keep us safe, if we chose to bow down and follow him." Everyone laughed at the foolish thought of people bowing down to this human.

"Aye. We laughed, too... until he wrapped himself in his cloak and cried out, 'Then see how well you do without me!' The rooftop suddenly burst into flames, and from it, armored dragons descended, burning the hall to the ground. I... was the only one to escape." He finished, everyone suddenly with a gloomy look. The atmosphere became dark.

"Men who kill without reason, can not be reasoned with!" I see where he is coming from, the whispering death for example. He was crazy... a 'mad-man' if you will. Then again, so was I when he showed his ugly mug...

"Maybe." Hiccup said getting on my back.

"Hiccup." Stoick started to say.

"I'm still going to try." Eret looked at him confused. "This is what I am good at. And if I can change your mind... I can change his, too." Hiccup said looked down at me. "Come on." He said and I spread my wings lifting me into the air.

We were in the air for a while. It gave me time to think. That female night fury. She looked familiar, but maybe that's what seeing your own kind feels like. Familiarity. Being able to relate to someone in a way no one else can. That must be it, because I have never seen her before in my life. Her wings, and her eyes. Her eye were a beautiful blue as deep as the oceans themselves. Her wings were the night sky at it's finest.
