Tayla goes to her rooms on the ship and locks herself in. Why did these men have to show up now? Everything was going so well. She wasn't sure, but she thought she had started to feel the presence of her true mate. The men had come before she could test her feelings and try to find him. Even though she loved being on Earth, she really missed her home and her family. Sometimes she wished that she wasn't part of the royal family, that she was just an ordinary citizen and could choose how she lived her life. Then she would remember all of the good times with her family and knew that she wouldn't give that up for all the freedom in the universe.

The others didn't realize how hard it was for her to shut off her emotions when it came to the people they had met here. Her heart couldn't shut out those that it was drawn too. Those that touched a special place deep within her. She wouldn't want it to. If she were to shut out her emotions, then she wouldn't make a good leader for her people. True she needed to learn more control, but that didn't mean she had to cut herself off from those around her. For her, a good leader leads not only with their head but with their heart as well. You had to weigh all things from different angles to find the right decision that will benefit all of those concerned. Logic was good up to a point, but then emotion or feeling has to step in so that you don't make a decision that excludes any other possibilities.

For now though she wouldn't think about any of that. For better or worse they had to follow her orders when she gave them. She wouldn't do anything that would put her at risk, but she wouldn't abandon her friends to an unknown enemy either. If they were registered to be here, she would just ask the government to watch out for her friends. Since they weren't she couldn't do that without letting those looking for her know where she was.

No, now she wanted to concentrate on the feelings that she thought indicated that her true mate had been near her. She would have to draw on her power to know for sure if that was what she had felt or not. If it were an indication that her mate was near they would have to go back to the city so that they could find each other. She wished that she could ask Aubrie about it, but she knew that there was no way for her to know since each couple experienced different things when they found their mates. Only their inner selves would know for sure.

Taking off her clothes, she lies out on her bed and closes her eyes. She takes her mind back to the first time she had the first feelings of being pulled towards something or someone.

Raelynn had wanted to go to the restaurant that was on the first floor of their building for lunch a couple of months ago, instead of going out since it was raining that day. When they entered the restaurant a strange feeling had come over Tayla and she had looked around trying to find what would cause that feeling and didn't see anything that would account for it. Now she looks at everything more slowly and tries to find where that feeling was drawing her to.

Going image by image she eliminates each as she goes. There really weren't that many, but she knew that it had to be one of the men she had seen standing near the entrance to the small bar. Looking at each man now, she concentrates on each trying to see which one draws the feelings from her. After several tries she's sure that the man that wasn't looking into the restaurant was the one.

He was tall, about six four or five, with long blonde hair pulled back and braided to keep it out of his face. Though she tried she couldn't see any more of his face then his left ear and cheek.

Filing that away she goes to the next feeling a couple of days later. She had just left the office with one of their contract workers and they were standing in the lobby waiting for one of their coworkers that would take them to see the client. The feeling had come over her again and she looks around her. Again she looks at each person in the lobby trying to find the one that she's feeling drawn to. After three or four men she sees the man with the blonde braid. He is talking with one of the lawyers from the third floor. She notices that he keeps looking around them, but never looks at her. Was he feeling the same way that she was"
