{song; kiss me by ed sheeran}

once harry was gone, alice's break began.

"what was that?" jenna asked.

"what do you mean?" alice asked, unwrapping her home made turkey sandwich.

"you and harry, it was...different."

"how so? he's just a very sweet man, and i know how to deal with him him."

"seemed like more than that to me." jenna said with a smirk.

"are you really implying that i like harry? because i don't." alice said with an annoyed groan.

"mkay." jenna said simply.

"he is very sweet and funny though, and he has so much money...i was surprised to be honest. not saying people with autism don't have money, i was just saying...sorry i'm ranting."

jenna only grinned at alice. "just you wait. it'll happen."

"whatever, i'm going to the bathroom." alice said with a groan.

"okay but when it happens, don't say i didn't tell you." jenna yelled after her.

monday came very slowly for alice. strangely enough she found herself waiting for harry to walk through the doors of the little hardware store only 6 days since she had last seen him.

harry on the other hand, had been slowly but surely marking off the days on his calendar until monday would come. when his mother anne woke him up on monday morning he squeaked with excitement."it's alice d-day!" he chanted happily to his mom, causing her to chuckle. "i know baby." is all she would say.

anne drove harry to the hardware store on the corner, him groaning that she was going too slow the whole time. he held his little red painted car in his hands tightly, making sure nothing happened to it.

when they finally arrived to the door, anne was confused of why harry wasn't moving. "baby, we're here." she told him with a small smile. "do you wan-want to c-come meet her?" harry questioned, running his hands through his curls.

anne smiled brightly and unbuckled her seatbelt. "i'd be honored, considering she's all you've talked about for the past few days."

"it's been six days." harry corrected her softly.

"well oh my, excuse me then!" anne said with a laugh while stepping out of the car.

"alice!" harry called to her as soon as he entered the store, anne not far behind him. he immediately saw her leaning against the register, a pink lollipop hanging out of her mouth.

alice's face immediately brightened as she spun around and saw him. "harry!" she exclaimed happily. for a moment she felt a strong urge to hug him, but decided against it, knowing he wouldn't like that.

harry walked up to the register quickly and waved awkwardly, causing alice to laugh. "and who is this?" she questioned as anne walked up on the side of him. "mum." he said simply with a shrug.

anne rolled her eyes and held her hand out to alice. "hi alice, i've heard a lot about you!" she said with a giggle.

"m-mum!" harry said with a groan. "i said d-do not tell her!"

"too late." anne said with a sarcastic grin.

alice hid her smile and shook anne's hand. "nice to meet you. your son is delightful."

"trust me i know!" anne said, placing her hand in harry's shoulder, causing him to flinch.

"car." harry said, holding out his red toy car to alice. "harry that's amazing! i love the color choice!" alice said to him happily. harry's face began to heat up at the compliment.

"yours. you h-have my car." he told alice, placing it on the table next to the register. "me? really?" alice said, surprised that harry was giving her something he had worked so hard on.

"yes, t-take it th-thank you." harry said finally, his eyes averting to meet alice's.

"okay, harry. thank you." she said with a grin.

harry smiled shyly at her, causing alice's cheeks to become dusted with a red tint.

"would you like another car to make?" she asked harry, causing his mouth to immediately curl up into a smile. "i'll take that as a yes!" alice said with a giggle.

"to the toy cars?" alice said to harry quietly with a small grin.

"yeah!"

and just as jenna had implied earlier in the week, anne also saw something spark between her son and alice, and she couldn't help but to smile.
