Julian looked at Harry, sweat beading on his forehead. "A pipe cleaner sounds a bit over simplified" he gasped. Harry told him that he was right, but that what he would be doing would be to make sure that the passage of souls would work flawlessly, so that no souls could go adrift. May asked Harry if he was an angel or a messenger from God. He told her he was a very rarely occurring being, but that in fact he was not so dissimilar from them, born to live his life, just like they were. "Just how powerful are you Harry? demanded May" Harry explained that he was immensely powerful, and that when his body was absorbed into the Colour he would purge, renew and make stable a global belt high above the Earth and many miles deep.
"Now we have to help Julian" he said. He told May to get the first aid kit that they had purchased on their shopping trip and to get his hooded top and shirt off of him, so that he could see the wound. There was a large ugly blackened hole with dark blood welling freely out of it. Harry gently grasped his shoulders and pulled him forward and looked over his shoulders at his back. He frowned, "the bullet is still inside" he said, "it has got to come out. Jules this is going to hurt so much! but I want you to be strong for me, it is critical that you stay alert, you hear me! do not pass out!" May took hold of Julian's hand as suddenly he tensed and sweat galloped off of him. he grunted and writhed in pain, his face as white as a bed sheet. Like a scene from a horror movie debris and chunks of bloodied flesh began oozing out of the ragged ugly wound. Julian's fingernails bit so deeply into Mays hand that they were drawing blood, but she was unflinching and said nothing. Suddenly looking like a bloodied and grotesque giant maggot the blunt end of the bullet became visible in the mess of the wound and kind of wriggled it's way out before dropping to the ground. Julian slumped half conscious to the ground. "Dress and bind his wound as best as you can May" Harry told her. May was already scrambling for the first aid kit as her nurses instinct kicked in and she professionally cleaned and dressed the wound.
"You have that kind of power Harry, the power to heal, of life over death?" He explained to her that he didn't possess that power at all. That what he had done in reality was to control Julian's own mind and cause him to tap into parts of his own mind that humans as yet hadn't learned how to use themselves. Through Julian's own mind he caused him to mentally target where the bullet lay, and then expand and contract the entry site thus forcing the bullet out of the hole it made as it entered him. He went on to explain that he could control simple electronic circuits but not mechanical things. Mainly he said, he could control peoples minds if they are in close proximity to him. Also he told her he could implant knowledge and even false memories if he can touch the person physically. Julian struggled into a sitting position, a bit of colour returning into his cheeks now. May hugged him tightly in sheer relief. "So is there a God, and a heaven where all of these souls that you speak of go to," asked Julian. Harry laughed, "I don't know any more than you do. If there is a God I have never seen him, and if there is a heaven I have never seen that either. How was everything created in the first place? I don't know the answer to that one either. Like all of you I understand what I myself am and I instinctively know what I must do. It is my destiny and I am driven towards it". "So what if you fail?" asked May. "Will the world end or something?" Harry smiled and he assured her that the world wouldn't come crashing down around her ears. "It just means that another will have to come and do the job, and so on until one of us succeeds".
"The Colour as I am calling it," he continued. "For want of a better word is made up of all of the sparks of life that every living thing contains. Imagine millions upon millions of lighter flames, but each very dim and almost touching each other. So close together that you struggle to see that they are actually separate. They are like a colony of ants or a hive of bee's and like that colony they have a collective awareness, but are not aware as individuals. Now higher end Animals like humans and apes, whales and squid etc, because they are highly intelligent and emotional creatures contain three sets of these sparks as we are calling them. Each set is comprised of three individual sparks arranged in a perfect triangle, and three of these spark triangles are themselves in a triangle, and compromise of nine sparks in total. Lower order creatures will contain two triangles of three, and even more basic creatures of only one set. Plants and very primitive organisms will contain only a single spark. When any of these life forms die their spark of life will leave the husk and drift up until they become part of the Colour. I am naming it this because it is like colour. Beautiful yet subdued but not any actual colour that humans are able to see. When new humans, animals, plants etc are born random sparks or sets of sparks are drawn from the Colour and become part of the new life form as it is born, and so a new cycle begins".
