9: Second Stage Results

Well as I said in my other story, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 200+ READS. IT REALLY MEANS A LOT BECAUSE I ACTUALLY TRY ON BOTH. but I try to make this one a little different from the original because it would be a little boring since you know what's going on already. But for this chapter, know that I have NOTHING against Aaron. Alright enjoy x

Well after the beating I took the other day, Jason hasn't talked or laid a finger on me. I felt a little weird because I was so used to him trying to beat the crap out of me.

The second stage initiation test results ever going to be posted up today. Honestly, I'm just a little nervous. I've been through the first stage already so I don't think I need to worry.

Everyone wakes up with a worried expression on their faces. Probably because of the results.

The Erudite faction leader, Jessica, is there to see our results. She has been coming to our training a lot. She's really nice though so I wouldn't worry about her sabotaging anything. She's a brunette and is short too.

For the results, this is what was on the board:
1. Cameron
2. Jason
3. Juliet
4. Shawn
5. Piper
6. Jack G.
7. Jack J.
8. Hayes
9. Aaron
10. Hazel
11. Sarah

The ten left. The top ten.

"Everyone if you're the last three, you're out. Sorry. You can now go to the dorms and get your stuff." Jake said in a harsh voice. Aaron, Sarah, and Hazel walked out in shame. I felt bad for them, especially Aaron. Cameron was staying and that was his best friend.

Jason is furious.

"What?! I did WAY better than Cameron!" He slightly yells. Everyone looks at him weird. He stomps out of the room angrily. Oh no, he's planning something. I know it.

"Okayy...." Matthew replies. He awkwardly takes a few steps against the wall and leans on it.

Everyone laughs and so does Jessica. I don't know why but Jessica is giving me a weird vibe. I don't really know why. She seems to be talking to Jake a lot this visit.

Matthew walks closer towards me.

"Congratulations Juliet! You made it through. I love you." He says, putting an arm around me and kissing me on the cheek.

"Let's go out yeah?" He asks. I nod and we walk around Chicago. It was getting dark, so the stars were shining beautifully in the sky.

"It's beautiful out, isn't it?" He asks.

"Yeah.. the stars are beautiful and you are too... I MEAN WHAT??" I reply back, blushing. He chuckles and shakes his head.

"Thanks babe." He responds and kisses me.

Jorge then comes, running from behind us.

"Hey guys! Do you wanna go to the Sears tower, or at least what it used to be? We're going to be parachuting to the bottom. I swear, we checked all the parachutes and they're safe." He said, huffing and puffing.

"Yeah, that sounds like fun. Wanna go too babe?" He asks me.

"Yeah sure!"

"Okay then, let's go." He says, wrapping his arm around mine.

We walk to what used to be the Sears tower. It's still the actual building and all but a few workers made it shorter (don't ask how or why just go with it). Jorge leads us inside.

"Since there's only ten levels, we'll go on the elevator. Oh also, when we get up to the tenth floor, we're gunna climb on a ladder so don't get too excited." Jorge says.

In the elevator, it was awkwardly quiet. It was like that for like ten minutes and then we got to the tenth floor.

"Jorge! Hi." A guy says. He gives him a high five.

"Matt, Juliet, meet my friend, Hayes. He's sixteen but he's a strong one."

"Hey Matthew. Hey Juliet." He says. He shakes our hands. He looks at me, with soft kind eyes. Oh god, blue eyes. Just like Nash.

"Do any of you guys know my older brother, Nash?" He asks.

Wait what?

"Wait.. Nash? Grier? He's your older brother?" I ask. I feel stupid for not knowing this. HAYES WAS IN THE SAME FACTION AS I WAS AND I DIDN'T KNOW WHO HE WAS.

"Yep, that's him." He replies back.

"Oh god. I was like his best friend when I was in Candor!" I reply.

"Oh really? I don't remember seeing you. Hm, weird." He replies. He grabs two parachutes for Matthew and me. "Here, these are your parachutes. Have fun!" He says as he walks towards the edge of the building. He suddenly jumps off, with his parachute on of course, and screams with joy.

"I'm not so sure about this Juliet." Matthew says, inching closer to the edge. He slips. I laugh and jump off as well.

"Haha Matthew! I never knew you were afraid of heights!" I yelled. He screamed and pulled the lever on his parachute. I kinda swam/flew to him and laughed at him. It was hard but I finally got a kiss in the middle of falling off a building.

I pull my lever too and I see that there's a jumper kinda thing on the ground. We both land on it and laugh.

"Wanna go again Matt?" I ask, mocking him.

"Haha never in a million years babe." He says and wraps his arms around my waist. He kisses me softly and I fangirl a little on the inside.
