Rena above^
Paris's Pov-

I look at her slowly as if I heard her wrong. She just said she has to kill me if I want to live, but wouldn't I be dead already if I hadn't of woke up?

"Why do I have to become a phantom wolf?" I ask her, my voice croaky and devoid of water.

"Unless you want to die in-" she looks up at the ceiling as if thinking before looking back at me, "ten minutes then you'll need to become a phantom wolf."

Her calm voice spreads in the room, her maroon eyes blink at me and it bothers me severely.

"Let her do it Paris," my father speaks shakily. And I look at him shocked. He'd just let me go like that?

"Intelligence, is the key to success and as of right now, you have zero. Obviously you're lucky my sister ever assigned you a mate." Rena speaks with hate.

"You really don't have a heart. Do you?" I snap at her, my body losing its calm.

"You don't know when to stop talking. Do you Miss Perfect. Zip the lips, I'm trying to save your life." She growls and I sigh, sitting down as she takes a hold of my head.

"One snap, that's all you'll feel. I'll do it fast for you," she says disappointed.

I squint my eyes, getting ready for the pain but all I feel is a quick jab at my throat, and I'm gone.

-

"So when she wakes up.. She'll look like you?"

"Only with eye color. She'll still be a wolf, she'll just be.. well dead."

"What about her and Xavier?"

"What about them? It's simple, I'll keep toiling with their minds. Of course she's part of my pack now so, I guess I'll have to stop a little. He's moved on."

"Why toy with them then? Why even keep trying?"

"I want to."

"There's a much bigger reason than that. Somebody doesn't just keep-"

"I had a mate."

"And?"

"He ran away from me, he said I was a monster. He's a human, all I ever wanted to do was protect him, and he didn't want that. He ran away from me, and seeing so many people happy to get the chance with secondhand love, I always find the power to want to destroy them."

"You lost your mate?"

"No.. We're the same age, he's in the human world. He hates me though. I can't blame him, I'm a monster, just like he said."

"You can change."

"If someone can't love you for the real you, then it's never true love."

My body shakes awake, my eyes wide as I stare at Alpha Rena, and my father speaking. She clicks her tongue, glaring at me with her beautiful, yet sharp eyes.

"Welcome to my pack. This will be your room, always remember the number 308, and you'll be good. You live on the west wing. Goodbye, sleep well." Rena says, walking out instead of actually speaking to me.

My father runs up to me, holding my face in his hands.

"Your eyes.. They're red." He whispers, looking down.

"They're supposed to be dad," I say with a laugh, that doesn't even sound happy. Of course how could I be?

"No, they're not maroon like hers, Paris your eyes are red."
