"Faye! You're finally awake" Aaron tearfully runs up to hug me before the person with the deep blue eyes grabs his shoulder. Aaron's eyes lose all of the softness towards me and turns to face him. "What do you want?" He says in a voice colder than I've ever heard.

"I just thought it might be better for your sister's injuries if you didn't run up and squeeze her to death." He says, now smirking ever so slightly. Aaron's cheeks redden but he understands that this is the truth. I'm not sure how injured I really am, but from the pain I can feel just laying down in a bed proves it must be pretty bad. Still staring each other down in their battle for dominance, I guess, Willow comes walking in probably not wanting to chase Aaron down the hall.

"Nick!" She walks towards him with her smile reaching further and further. Ah, this is Nick. His eyes shift to face her and his smirk fades into a kind grin. "How is she looking Nick? A lot better than before, huh? We might be able to head over there now." There? There are so many questions I want to ask but I am too slow to write it down before they move on to more topics and I begin to realize just how inconvenient it is for my vocal cords to be damaged beyond my liking.

Noticing my frustration, Nick looks over at my frantic writing and asks, "How are you feeling?". Not expecting this question, my eyes widen a bit but I immediately get to writing, finally being involved in the conversation around me. Not too sure because I feel pain all over but I also really want out of this bed. - I write. He chuckles at that and it seems to fill the entire room with a comfort that could almost make me forget the searing pain in my abdomen. I raise my eyebrows wanting some kind of answer to me getting out of this bed. "You should probably forget about getting up any time soon. That wound isn't looking like it's going to be all healed in the next few minutes." My frustration grows but I comply.

I glance over at Willow as we meet eyes and raise my eyebrow knowingly. I see the blush grow darker on her face and I can't help but give another breathy laugh. Nick looks from both of us asking, "What did I just miss in this silent conversation between you two?".

"Nothing! I think I am going to go take a breath outside but let me know how she's doing after you check up on her, ok Nick? And Faye! Don't you dare say anything!" Grabbing Aaron, Willow with her blush still on her face reluctantly leaves the room.

Nick looks to me raising his eyebrows but I just write on the paper I have no idea. He jokingly squints his eyes and comes over to rest at the side of my bed. After the little banter that went on a minute ago his eyes suddenly darken and I can't help but feel like it has something to do with me. I write why am I still here? I was on the edge out there. Something happened, didn't it?

His eyes soften a bit again and he lets out a sigh. "You are absolutely right. I was telling you're sister we were going to do everything we could but normally at the point someone like you gets to, there is nothing more we can do.".

In his pause I manage to write, then why am I still here? Willow said something about a 'dark shroud'?

"Ah, I was just about to get to-"

"I heard our miracle girl has finally awoken from her long slumber!" I hear a loud high pitched voice ring out. A girl with short dark hair suddenly appears from the doorway. "You've been sleeping for so long I was worried you were never going to wake up." She says such a dark thing and laughs it off right after. She definitely has a presence about her. Despite being on the shorter side I can tell when her eyes wander off that she has seen things.

Interrupting my thoughts, Nick starts, "Well I guess this is my cue to leave you two be." He turns to me, "Anna is going to check all of your wounds and be able to confirm when you will be able to get up and out of this bed. So, I am going to head downstairs but let me know of anything you find out." He whispers that last bit a little quieter to Anna which makes my stomach do a little flip-flop but I do my best to ignore it.

As soon as Nick is out the door I feel my anxiety levels grow a bit and Anna shuts the door. She turns to me and locks eyes and smirks before saying, "Shall we get started?".
