The Woman of My Life

I drive up to the parking lot and I look at the sign on top of the building. "Shay's Diamonds" in big letters and "For Her", I small letters. I put on my sunglasses, put the checkbook in my pocket, and get out of the Stylo.

I walk to the entrance and head inside. "Hello! Welcome to Shay's Diamonds!", I hear the employee say behind the counter. I walk towards her. "How may I help you?", she asks. "I would like to order a custom designed engagement ring.", I reply. "Certainly", she says handing me a tablet. "Just search for a design and show me the ring you are interested in.", she says. "Okay, thank you", I reply . I look up at the "Search" bar and type in "Yin Yang". The results show and I keep scrolling until I find an image of a ring that I definitely know that Noodle will love.

I look back at the employee and show her the image. "I'm interested in buying this ring", I tell her. "Okay! The cost will be $2,750. This includes this ring and the ring for the groom, which is this one", she explains as she scrolls down and shows me another image.

"It also includes insurance just in case any of the rings don't fit properly. If it doesn't, you can return it and we'll fix it for you. The arrival time for the ring is a week. Would you like to purchase?", she asks. "Yes", I reply. "Okay, it will be $2,750.", she says. I pull out the check book. "May I borrow a pen?", I ask. "Sure", she replies, giving me one. I sign the check and hand the check and pen back to her.

"What is your name?", she asks after dealing with the check. "Stuart Pot", I reply. "Okay, Mr. Pot. Check back in a week and we'll give you the rings.", she explains. "Okay, thank you.", I say as I walk out of the store. "My pleasure", she says. I walk out and get back into the Stylo.

I can't believe it! I just bought a ring! I take a breath and start the car. Now it is time to buy some groceries.
