A sudden noise startled me ripping me out of my subconscious.

Breathing hurt, the cold air biting at my lungs.

Usually my body kept to a natural, warm temperature, the wolf inside of me shielding me against the cold. Even in winter it was possible for me to survive without clothes for some days. But this coldness was different. It almost seemed as if it was sucking out the warmth of me.

My muscles felt sore; there was still the biting pain in my ankles and wrists, the burning getting worse every day. At least I thought it had been days.

Time seemed unimportant, whether it had been hours, days- it didn't matter, for it wouldn't change the situation.

The sound was unmistakably the opening of a heavy door, followed by determined footsteps. I couldn't tell how far away they were.

The footsteps were heavy, indicating a strong person.

The moment they walked over the doorstep, the cold hand of fear took hold of my heart, the blood running like ice in my veins.

The way the person walked, told a great deal of their identification, but I didn't need the sound to decipher that. There were two people in the room, both so powerful, that their presence seemed to suffocate me. My world had been black all these past days and as they entered the darkness seemed to become even darker.

I felt their eyes roam over my body. Their glares made me sick in the stomach, but hanging defenseless at the wall I couldn't do anything.

A cruel laugh sounded in the room, cutting through the cold air. I shivered and more coldness seeped into my body.

"Melay", the voice sounded warmer than the former laugh. It also lacked the forcing control the sound of the laugh had enforced in my body. But it was intimidating nonetheless. Even though being less powerful than the Alpha, the Beta was still one of the most authorizing persons I've ever met. There was no gentleness in his tone as he continued to speak.

"I believe, you are familiar with the forms of an interrogation. We ask, you answer. Well, and if you do not... there are so many beautiful ways to make a person talk. Now: Why are you on our territory?"

The question was one I could answer, but even then I shivered, my mind creating the worst images of torture.

"I was.-", my voice cracked. No water for such a long time and the cold air making it hard to speak. My throat hurt, but the images in my head forced me to continue speaking. "I was fleeing the Rogues you captured with me. It wasn't my aim to end up on your territory."

"That I believe", the Beta chuckled again, the laugh a menacing one, chilling me to my bones.
"But you did", his voice turned serious again. "And you won the fight even though it was lost. You know, I respect a good fighter, but you didn't fight", he stepped closer. My heartbeat sped up a fraction.

"What did you do? How did you win?"

At the last words the power in his voice grew.

"I don't know", I couldn't keep the slight shaking out of my voice.

"Wrong answer."

There were footsteps and the next moment something sliced through my skin. I could feel warm liquid running down my arm. The cut was not large, nonetheless not small either by any means. I kept my face into an expressionless mask.

"Such nice skin", a finger slid down the fair skin of my arm. "What a pity", his finger traced the cut. I suppressed a shudder.

The sound of him moving could be heard again. I wondered for a moment why the Alpha didn't do anything, but it seemed as if he preferred to silently watch.
As the Beta returned, he positioned himself in front of me, and then laughed menacingly.
