Without You
By Desire Shaw
Who knew the house would be so quiet
Without you here, silence coats everything
I miss the fuss you threw before every meal
I miss the way you would skip around
Asking me to pick you up, give you a kiss
I miss the time you took to get ready for bed
Too long in my opinion, always laughing it off
I couldn't wait for you to leave
So I'd finally get some peace
Able to do my own thing again once again
But without you here, all I feel is an emptiness
Eating into my soul, tearing me to bits and pieces
The sadness bores into my heart
As I realise that my naive fear came true
The fear I felt when I first held you
You had given me the peace I craved
I had finally lost you
