Prologue

"What is depression like?" he whispered. He gently puts his hand on my chin, tilting my head upwards making me look at him.

"It's like drowning... Except you can see everyone around you breathing."

I stare at him straight in the eyes, trying not to break down while I release my feelings that I've been holding in for years.

"It's like screaming and nobody can hear", I sigh and close my eyes, trying not to think about my past. I hold back the tears as I force out the last sentence.

"Depression is like a war. You either win or die trying"

How was it? It was just the prologue so I want this chapter short.
