October 31, 1971

It is nearing midnight. In the Room of Requirement, ANDROMEDA works alone on the Vanishing Cabinet, observing it and examining the many small crevices, inside and out. Suddenly, something falls from behind her, making her jump.

ANDROMEDA: Hello? Who's there?

The room remains silent, but soon she hears another distant crash. ANDROMEDA takes out her wand and alights it.

ANDROMEDA: Cissy? Is that you?

ANDROMEDA gets up and covers the cabinet with the black cloth before she makes her way to the exit of the room. She slips through the doorway and closes the door behind her, which slowly begins to fade away and vanish from view. She looks around the empty corridor, but hears a third small crash coming from nearby. She jogs around the corner, and encounters TED, who is kneeling beside a suit of armor lying on the ground.

ANDROMEDA: (relieved) Ted! What are you doing here?

TED: (startled) Oh, God, Andromeda. You scared me.

ANDROMEDA: Sorry. What's going on here? (She kneels beside him).

TED: (fumbling with the metal pieces) I was patrolling the corridors, I accidentally dropped my wand, and then I crashed into this suit of armor, sending it hurtling towards the ground, and that is the story of me with the fallen warrior here in the dead of night. What's your excuse for being out so late?

ANDROMEDA: (laughing) Not as good as your story, believe me. (She helps him lift the suit of armor back up to its pedestal, but one of the arms is bent at an awkward angle).

TED: Oh, damn.

ANDROMEDA: You try fixing it magically?

TED: Yeah. It doesn't work very well. These things are just too old.

ANDROMEDA: Oh. Well, I think it looks better this way.

TED: (smiling) You think?

ANDROMEDA: (nodding) Yeah.

The two stand still for a moment, looking at the suit of armor. ANDROMEDA gazes sideways at TED for a moment before she steps forward, locks her arms around his neck, and kisses him on the lips. TED is surprised, but eventually kisses her back.

ANDROMEDA: (breaking away, resting her head on his shoulder) I missed you.

TED: I missed you, too.

They begin to kiss again, and slowly the light from their wands begins to diminish.
