It was 4 am and I just couldn’t get back to sleep. Instead of lying in bed I decided to go out for a morning walk. I threw on a plain white tank and a pair of grey sweats, which I pulled them up to below my knees, pulled on a red Jack Willis hoodie, slipped on my black converse, shoved my phone, wallet, and key into my pocket and headed out the door, locking it behind me. It was a bit chilly outside and I loved it. It felt nice against my skin. After a bit of walking I’d told myself I’d go out to eat breakfast. I had nothing to do today so I might as well go out instead of sitting around at home getting fat.

I was walking down the streets minding my own business, taking in the chilled morning air. There were not much people around since it was 4am. There were a few cars passing by and joggers out for an early run. I pulled up hoodie since it was a bit chilly. I kept walking when I saw across the street, oddly familiar blue and red plaid pants and white converse. He was wearing a thin dark grey hoodie and a grey beanie. Their back was turned towards me so I couldn’t be too sure. He was alone. If it was Louis I was sure the boys should have been with him as well. He walked into the coffee shop I was heading into. This coffee shop stayed open from 4am to 10pm. Why so early and why so late? I had my own thoughts and others had theirs, but I was glad they were open now. I could use something warm. I entered and as usual, there were a few people in the shop sipping on their drinks. It was rather peaceful and quite nice. I stood in line behind the familiar looking person. There were to cash register open and the stranger and I were able to get our orders in at the same time. I didn’t want to seem like a creeper so I kept my eyes off of the stranger.

“Good morning what can I get for you?” The cashier asked.

“A large caramel latte please.” I asked.

“Coming right up.” She smiled sincerely at me.

I was about to turn and find a seat when a familiar voice called out to me.

“Nikki?” the voice asked.

A bit startled and confused, I turned my head and saw Louis standing before me with a big smile.

“Louis? Hey. What are you doing here?” I asked in shock.

“Just getting some tea.” He answered.

“What I meant was, why are you here alone?” I rephrased my question.

“I couldn’t sleep and thought I’d go out for a walk.” He gave me a light smile as we both made our way to a table near the back of the coffee shop.

“What a coincidence. Same here.” I laughed as we sat down.

“Great minds think alike.” He mentioned.

We were talking waiting for our drinks when the waitress brought it out to us. We both gave our thanks and she nodded smiling widely as she looked at Louis. He gave her a smile and she was off back to work.

“She must be a fan.” I smiled looking at the shrinking waitress.
