It really means a lot to me. Also, I just wanted to let you know that this book is coming to an end soon. I'm thinking of doing a sequel, but I'm not too sure yet. What do you think? Hmm… Well, with out any further adieu, here the new chappy! Thanks for reading! :) xx
It was the morning before Christmas eve and, how could I forget, Louis' birthday was the next day. I caressed my stomach as I could feel my little one kicking around. Maria was in the kitchen cooking breakfast and my mouth was already salivating. I scanned my apartment and most of my things were already packed even though we had a few more months left till we move to London.
"Nikki, love, breakfast is ready!" Maria called talking in a failed British accent.
"Coming dear!" I shouted back in my own failed British attempt.
I made my way over to the kitchen island and sat on one of the bar style stools. I grabbed one of the plates that was set on the island and scooped up some french toast and diced fruits. I smothered my french toast with syrup and took a bite. Maria was eating her own food.
When we were both finished, I offered to wash the dishes since she cooked. She protested against it, but I insisted. It was the least I could do. And a pregnant woman was capable of doing the dishes right? As I was lost in my thoughts I felt a weird sensation like I just peed myself a little. That's when it hit me, my water just broke…
"Maria!" I shouted.
"What?!" She ran to my aid within seconds.
"M-my water just broke!" I breathed. Her eyes went huge and with a blink of an eye, she was gone.
"Maria! Where are you going?!" I shouted in confusion.
"I have to get your bag! I got it prepared since it was your 9 months!" She came back caring a large duffle bag.
Maria then crabbed my keys and our phones. She pulled one of my arms over her shoulder helping me out to the car. Once in the car, Maria raced it to the nearest hospital. She rushed me in telling the front desk that I was having a baby. I was already getting contractions and boy did they hurt like a mother effer! But they came in long interval and they didn't last long. The nurses helped us to a room where they got me situated.
After a few hours, the contraction came nearer. The longer I had to wait, the painful it got. Maria was by my side the whole time. She was panicking more than I was. It was like she didn't know what to do with herself. I would laugh between contractions.
"Maria, you're such a nervous wreck." I chuckled.
"That's because you made me this way!" She blamed. Every time she would make an excuse, I'd only laugh harder until the contractions came again, then I would hiss in pain making Maria become more of a wreck. As painful as it was, this was a pretty funny experience. To watch Maria freak out that is. I was so happy that she was with me, but I couldn't help wonder what Louis' reaction would have been like. I sighed as a tear slipped out and ran down my cheek.
"What's wrong? Are you in that much pain?" Maria jumped out of her seat.
"No, I was just thinking about Louis again." I confessed.
"Maybe you should call him." Maria suggested.
"Even if I did, it would be too last minute. He wouldn't get here on time. Besides, their numbers has been changed and so has mine, remember?" I reminded her.
