Isaiah ~

My alarm clock went off for the next morning, and I groaned as I tried to find it to turn it off.

My eyes were slowly beginning to open as I finally found and distinguished source of the annoying beeping noise and laid there a little longer.

Opening my eyes to let them slowly close, only to lift my eye lids again before they fully shut, I reluctantly rolled out of my bed and saw a notification appear on my phone.

"Good morning my king."

David sent me a good morning text.

"Good morning," I responded.

That just made my day.

...

David~

After work, I went to my grandmother's house to pick up Rodrick.

My grandmother usually picks him up after school everyday for me and is a big help when taking care of him. She's been sickly lately and has been trying her best to hide it, but I can always tell when there's something wrong.

When Roderick and I moved in with her, she gladly took us in with open arms, giving us everything that we needed. She and I grew closer, and I found that she and my mom were completely the same.
...

Memory

"David, it's time for dinner, get Roderick his eating chair and wash your hands before you sit down to eat!"

"Yes mam."

We had just moved in with my grandmother, and we were getting used to our new lives with her.

I glanced around the dinning room and saw a picture of my mom. I've seen this picture almost everyday since we've been here, but at that moment, I was overwhelmed with emotions. I could barely eat my food, and I had forgotten to give Roderick his spoonful of baby food as he stared at me, wondering where the magic spoon train went.

"David, is something the matter? When you took a bite of your chicken, you didn't take as big as a monster bite as you usually do."

I smiled as she chuckled to herself.

"I'm fine."

She stood and sat next to me, wrapping her arm around my shoulder.

"Are you thinking about your mother?"

I felt tears form in my eyes and I wanted her to stop asking me questions.

"N-no."

Tears started to fall and I couldn't hold it in any longer.

"Oh, sweetheart. Your mother was such a good woman David. She would've given anything to stay here with you and your brother, but of course, when it's someone's time to go, you can't stop it from happening. I know that you miss her; I miss her just as much. I know that it hurts, I'm hurting too baby. But just know, she's always going to be with you and your brother."
