“Brooklyn Lydia Johnson get yourself down here this minute or you will be late to school, again!” My impatient mother called, or more like screamed from downstairs.
I pulled on my jeans and started walking out of my room heading down stairs at the same time. “I’m coming mum, just give me a min-oooft” I tripped on my pants as I tried to pull them up, landing face forward on the wooden floorboards. “Stupid floor, what’s the point of you anyway.” I grumbled to myself while I finished pulling my pants on and stood back up.
“Nice ass” A voice spoke behind me, I yelped and turned around. “Siblings, Nath we are siblings, you are my blood my goddamn blood!” I messed up my smirking, idiot brother Nath’s hair, and watched with a satisfied smile as his face fell and he raced to a bathroom to fix his still perfect blonde hair.
I walked into the kitchen and my mum rolled her eyes at my lateness and before I could point out that Nath was late as well she placed a plate of hot bacon and eggs in front of me. I eagerly sat down and shoved the food in my mouth. I know, gross but I am starved, I haven’t eaten since last night and I know some people can last that but I just can’t.
“In the car, now!” My sister, Peyton yelled from the garage. She is always ready so early. I grabbed my bag and an apple for later before jumping into her car. Peyton got a car three months ago for her eighteenth birthday and in getting this it meant Nath and I got free lifts everywhere we wanted. Joking. It meant my mother refused to drive us places because she naively thought Peyton would give us a lift. Bull.
I’m sorry, how rude of me… I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Brooklyn Lydia Johnson. Yes. Brooklyn like the bridge. Applause to the most creative parents on earth… My dear mother and father. Although Brooklyn is a horrible name, I cope, by only answering to the name Brooke and telling no one my full name.
I am a seventeen year old high school senior and I have a twin brother who you have, unluckily, already encountered, Nathan or Nath. I have an older sister Peyton who is currently eighteen and at her first year of university or college or whatever you want to call it. Kapeesh?
No? You want to know why my sister is driving me to school when she goes to Uni. Me too. Well quote my mother “Peyton’s university starts one hour after your school so this way you can get to school and she can still drive to Uni on time, saving me the money of buying another car.” Unquote.
Well seeing as you are so curious I will give you the in depth story of my life. Today is January the 29th 2014. I live in Sydney, Australia, which means that today is my first day of school for the year.
My brother Nath is your classic surfer, blonde hair that is always swept to the side and styled to perfection. Then he has a toned, tanned body that only ever sees black shirts and loose jeans. He may be your classic idea of a hottie but looks can be very, very deceiving. Nath is one of the most arrogant, rude and bad tempered people I know. That aside though, he is a good brother, always looking after his sisters. He may seem aggressive but he couldn’t hurt a fly. Literally. He is the weakest human being roaming earth.
Peyton or Pey as everyone calls her is your stereotypical nerd. She wakes up and gets ready at some ridiculous hour and always hands her homework in ahead of time in hope for some sort of credit. She avoids attention like it’s the plague and her books are her best friends. Let me tell you this much, it payed off. She got a high ATAR and into medicine at some high-end Uni.
My siblings are the complete opposite of each other, surfer jock and nerd but they still manage to not kill each other each morning. I know what you are thinking… Me, I am the queen bee, the popular girl. WRONG.
You can work out my stereotype yourselves. Me. I am completely and utterly normal. Oh wait... Did I forget to mention one teeny tiny detail. I am a werewolf.
So here is my first chapter, please correct any mistakes and if you find a stereotype you think Brooke fits comment below, you will find one as the book goes on. Anyone notice all the names come from a certain TV show?
