Splash. I jerked awake to the beautiful face of my laughing brother with an empty bucket in his hands. “You jackass, did you seriously pour water on me?” I screeched. Yes Screeched. He laughed even more before he did the sensible thing. He bolted, for his life. Douche.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, thinking of my anger management classes I took last year. Breath, release, breath, release. Fuck this… I need a warm shower and a cup of hot chocolate.

After my shower and pulling some clothes on I ran down stairs, shoveling my food before I jumped in Peyton’s car, racing to school because today was Tuesday. Every Tuesday my group goes out for coffee and then skip first period whilst we flirt with the hot barista and Luke stares at any girl who enters the café. Whoooppp I get my hot chocolate!

I left Peyton’s stuffy car, racing inside and shoving my shit in my locker before walking back to the car park where Luke was waiting for me. I hugged him before jumping onto the front of his motorbike and started it up, the idiot didn’t take his keys out.

Luke gave me a look and I sighed, wiggling back in the seat so he could drive, he never let’s me drive it’s not fair. Sure I don’t have a license but it’s only a ten-minute drive.

I ran my hands through my hair shaking it out, enjoying the wind flowing though it. I put my hands in the air whooping as Luke sped through the streets, going way past the speed limit. I smiled enjoying the adrenaline rush.

I dismounted his bike and sluggishly walked into our favorite café. Chelsea’s Place, it is the cutest café, quirky trinkets cover the walls and multi coloured cushions litter small booths. We made our way to our seat and nodded at the waitress, Amanda and waved at Grace who happens to own the café, that’s right, Grace owns a café called Chelsea’s café… Sometimes humans confuse me.

Amanda knew our orders got straight to making them. I hugged Luke and Hayley before sitting down. “Missed me much?” Hayley smirked. I smirked back. “You know it, I missed the coffee here so much!” I said enthusiastically, confusing them. I made myself comfortable at the booth; sliding in between my two friends just to annoy them. Ahhhh, I love being an inconvenient nuisance at times. The second my butt settled nicely on the woven fabric that was just too comfortable to be called a seat, Hales leaned in, her face completely serious and I flipped, I’m in for it… What did I do this time?

Oh god… She found out about that time that I blamed my mysterious black eye on her. Technically it was her fault, she did laugh when I punched myself, but perhaps she didn’t deserve the detention.

She winged about that detention for a good three hours, my ears were bleeding and the detention didn’t even sound to bad, surely Hayley could take on a few creepy burnouts.

“So, is she pregnant?” She sounded so excited for a piece of gossip. “Who, Stacy?” I asked nonchalantly, Hales nodded enthusiastically. “No, I don’t think so, she seemed perfectly normal.” I said honestly, Hayley frowned she loves to watch teen drama unfold. I laughed before shaking my head at her. Phew, she didn’t ask about anything else… My secrets are safe.

Hayley grabbed my arm and nodded towards the café register. The hot barista was making his way over here, our orders in his hands. We have been coming here for a year and a half and never has he left his coffee machine.

I turned to Hayley. “He’s all yours, good luck.” I whispered and mouthed the word mate. She nodded sadly before she fixed her hair, put her elbows on the table squishing her boobs together.

I love watching her work her magic. The barista placed our orders on our table and Hales stared up at him through her lashes. “Hey, I’m Hayley, Hayley James and you are…?” Hayley said whilst she held her hand out for him to shake. He took it eagerly. She lingered her hand for longer then necessary and winked at him. “Oh, names Jinx.” He replied after he recovered from some sort of trance. I snorted in the most un-lady like manner. Damn. Hayley sure works fast.
