Alison awoke with a start as she hit the floor. She had rolled off the bed.
"Ouch..." She said, standing up and rubbing her butt. Stella was already awake and sitting up in her bed.
"Morning to you too" Stella said, looking down at her friend.
"Morning," Alison replied, then she noticed Stella's tear-stricken face, "Everything okay?"
Stella nodded, "Yeah, what lessons do we have today?"
"We have..."Alison pulled out a schedule, "Transfiguration, charms and potions"
"Is it bad that I practiced a few simple spells at home?"
"Nah, I did too"
"We'll have charms with our house teacher" Stella said.
"Cool!" Alison replied, then thought, "So Professor Flitwick is our house teacher?"
"Yeah," Stella nodded, "I hear he's nice"
Alison laughed, "I hear he's short, really short"
Stella laughed too, "Remember, if you want to use the stone, just ask"
"Oh, okay" Alison murmured, the events of the previous night were still effecting her. She hadn't known her dad had died.
Stella began staring out of the window in silence, she was beginning to concern Alison.
"We should change into our robes" She said.
"You're right" Stella replied, picking up her robes and closing the curtains on her bed. Alison changed and once she was done Stella opened the curtains again.
"I'm.. not really sure what to do now, all Daniel told me about was 'Pain and Suffering'"
"Pain and suffering?"
"Yeah. He said after the sorting there would be a ton of tests that if you failed... you were killed..."
