The last day at Beacon Hills High School had gone much more quickly than anyone had anticipated. Not only was it a day of relief, finally school was over, but it was a day of sadness, an end of an era that brought with it terrifying new prospects. University, college, adulthood.
It brought goodbyes, hellos, thank yous, and I love yous. Stay in touch. We'll meet up in the holidays.
For Stiles, it brought the day his pack, his friends, would go their separate ways. He was off to Virginia, an FBI internship waiting for him. He'd given his baseball bat to Liam and Mason, goodbye hugs to Lydia and Malia and his jeep to his best friend, Scott McCall, with the promise that if anything happened to Roscoe, he'd kick the werewolf's ass.
The one person he hadn't given anything to was Y/N. A material item wasn't good enough for her, a hug was almost insulting. She'd been through everything with him, the ups and the downs. He'd lost count of the amount of times she'd bailed him out of mishaps that had come naturally to Stiles Stilinski.
She would be staying in Beacon Hills, taking a job at the hospital under the watchful eye of Melissa McCall. With a crossbow hidden under her bed, Stiles knew that she would be safe should anything supernatural come her way as they often did in Beacon Hills, but even so, he couldn't help but worry about her.
They'd known each other since they were children. They'd watched each other grow up, been there when Scott was bitten, when Lydia's banshee abilities came to the surface, when the Nogitsune killed Allison. They'd been through the dead pool, the Dread Doctors, the Beast.
She was the first one he saw when he escaped the Ghost Riders.
Neither had thought that meant anything. They were good friends, it was only natural. And besides, Scott had shown up only moments later.
Stiles remembered how relieved he felt when she recognised him, when the tears brimmed in her eyes as she pulled him into a hug. He remembered burying his face into her shirt, not quite believing that he was finally free.
That he was finally home.
He remembered how she tried to speak, laughing when she couldn't overcome the ecstasy she felt at seeing him safe and sound. It had caused him to smile too, and briefly, it felt like they were the only two in the world.
Now, now he was leaving once again, and he had nothing to give her. He didn't even know what to say to her. Thank you for being there? I'll miss you? They didn't sound worthy. He was clearing out his locker when Scott approached him.
"Ready to go?"
"I will be soon."
"Don't sound too excited, Stilinski."
Y/N's locker was only a few doors down from Stiles' and at the sound of her voice, he looked up to see her smiling at him.
That was it. That was the moment Stiles knew. He knew from the way her lips turned up to reveal a crescent smile, the way her eyes lit up when she looked at him. He knew then what was he was going to give her.
He was going to give her everything.
Marching over, a look of determination on his face, Stiles' didn't care who was watching. He grabbed her face and pulled her lips to his own.
Stiles knew she was shocked, who wouldn't be when your best friend decides to kiss you? He was even more surprised when she began to kiss him back, her arms wrapping themselves around his neck as she melted into him.
Stiles understood that it hadn't meant nothing when she was the first one he saw on his return. It had meant everything.
Pulling apart, both of them gasping for breath, Stiles managed to speak, his head reeling.
"I should have said this sooner. I mean, it's so cliche to say it just as I'm about to disappear to Virginia. I-I love you, Y/N. Probably always have. It's just taken me a while to realise it."
Y/N blinked, a look of amazement on her face before showing him her pearly teeth in the form of a smile.
"I love you too."
Stiles let out a breath he hadn't known he'd been holding.
"Okay. Okay, that's good. Because this would've been totally embarrassing otherwise. So, are we dating now? I mean, I know we're going to be in different states and that might make it more complicated-"
"Stiles," she interrupted the rambling that was so typical of him, causing his lips to draw up into a smile that matched her own.
Out of the corner of her eye, Y/N could see Scott standing there, the werewolf clearly content with his best friend's actions. He looked at her before mouthing too little words to her.
"About time."
"Shut up", she mouthed back before returning to look at Stiles, and placing her lips back on his.
As he kissed her for the second time, Stiles concluded that Y/N was his everything. Virginia had been waiting a few weeks for him already, and for his everything, it could wait a little longer.

So, I'm back, kind of. Basically, I've started university which is tons of work but awesome (my lecturer said I was like J.K. Rowling yesterday, which is possibly the biggest compliment anyone could ever pay me), and I've even started writing a short story which I have to send off to a small publishing company in about two weeks, like that's crazy! I'm also going to be back at my seasonal job in a chocolate shop soon, as well as going back to piano lessons (Grade 4, somebody help me), so I'm trying to update when I can. In other news, Teen Wolf actually ended. I may or may not have screamed at Void Stiles, and Stydia was cute.
Hope you guys liked this!
Love,
LJ xx
