Jake and Connor sit in their one-room cabin, furnished entirely out of plain, oak wood planks. It took them a while to build it, but at least they have a place to spend the night. It gets a bit boring after a while, and they try their best to keep themselves entertained, Connor taking extra care not to spill any premature secrets...

"Jake?" "Yeah Connor?" "Do you remember anything?" he asked. "Like?" I answer. "Like the time  before you woke up this morning," he replies. "Um... No, not really. Actually nothing at all," I say. This is the first time that I think about it since waking up. It is almost scary. Before I can comment, I hear a faint groan. "Grab your stuff," I say. "Just in case we need a quick escape."

I pick up my bag and search through its contents. There isn't much that I can use now, so I just grab my trusty sword and a little suprise...

The grotesque creatures begin banging the walls. I tighten my grip on the hilt of my sword and walk slowly towards the door. I take a deep breath and motion to Connor to stay back. He nods and flips the table on its side, using it as cover.

"NOW!" I kick the door open and start slashing at the mobs. I fend them away from the house, quickly counting that the small group consists of four zombies. One even has a slime on its head. I continue to attack them, and defeat two of them with a flurry of strikes and then turn my attention to the rest of the group. Suddenly, something that sounds like wood snaps behind me and lose focus. I spin around to try and find what it was and I hear Connor in peril.

One of the zombies slams my shoulder and I can immediately feel the agony, neatly dropping to my knees. I rise, give them a quick slash to get them away from me and dash back to the house. I gasp when I see that there are five zombies heading straight for Connor's hiding place. This is the best moment for me to use my little suprise.

I grab a small, metallic-green object out of my pocket, pull out a small pin and lob it at the horde. "GRENADE! GET DOWN CONNOR!" I yell, and we jump straight out of the nearest window (hole).

KABOOOOOM!

The explosion rattles the tiny house and even blows off the roof. The Zombies are blown to pieces, and the only trace that they were ever here are a couple of coins. "That... was... AWESOME!" Connor exclaims. "Yeah," I say. "Would've looked cooler if I walked away slowly..."

I quickly run to the chest to grab some wood, and begin patching up all the holes. Connor watches for a few moments, and then retreats to a nearby lake to sit down. At first I don't notice him leaving, but as I near the end of my repairs I realise how quiet the night is.

I walk to the lake and find him jotting down something in a little red book. I concider trying to read what he is writing in his mysterious journal, but decide not to. Instead, I sit down next to him on the bank of the lake.

"Hey" I say to him. "Hey!" Connor replies, quickly putting away the small book. "What's up?" I ask him. "Nothing much... by the way, where did you find that grenade?" He says. I notice immediately that he tried to change the subject, but I don't mind. Perhaps he will open up to me later when we get to know each other.

"Funny story," I begin. "but perhaps we should go inside. It's getting late after all." "Yeah" he replies. "You can tell me there!"

Hello!

I'm so sorry that it took so long for me to add this chapter. I've been quite preoccupied with school and games and extramurals and games.

Now that it's holiday, I hope to add a few chapters onto the story.

Like I say, feel free to give me tips, tricks or other comments as you wish.

Thanks again!
