Me, Jewel, Brax, and Clank were walking down down a hall to begin me and Clank's training. "Our training program usually lasts a full year." He told us. "But we've been cleared to attack Drek Industries In three days. That means you two are getting the accelerated course." "We're going to be trained by Brax Lectrus? The guy's a legend!" I whispered to Clank, who then asked Brax something but I couldn't really hear but he and Brax stopped and me and Jewel continued forward. "Hey Jewel, what do you think they're talking about?" I asked her. "Qwark said that due to his size he should be put in a position less dangerous." She told me "Really? Ok then what is he gonna do?" "You'll see." She said and the four of us walked into a small room where a female alien was playing video games. She didn't seem to notice us until Brax got her attention. "Hey Brax." She responded. "Is that my new assistant?" "Greetings ma'am. Your office is quite, um, interesting." Clank said, to which she scoffed. "Elaris is in charge of developing our gear and providing tactical support." Brax explained. "Usually it's the former. The Rangers are the shoot first, think later type." She said but quickly apologized. "Like what now?" Brax asked. Then Elaris offered to show Clank around and Brax said it was time to make me a Ranger so I followed him and Jewel out, saying goodbye to Clank first. On our way down Brax said that Qwark told him to help him with something so he went a different way, and me and Jewel continued our way down. "Are you excited for training?" Jewel asked. "Heck yeah, I am!" I responded, then I remembered the gift I got for her. "Hey Jewel, can we stop for a second? I need to show you something." "Uh, sure just don't take long." "Ok, can you close your eyes and hold your hands out please?" I asked. "What?" She asked. "Just do it." "Ok..." and placed it into her hands. "Ok, open your eyes." She opened her eyes and saw the locket. Immediately she started blushing and put her hand up to her mouth. "Oh my goodness, this is beautiful! Where did you get it?" "I made it. It took me a while but their you go, thought I'd make something special for a special friend." I said. At a loss of words she hugged me which I of course returned. "Thank you so much!" "So are you ready now, or do you two need more time alone?" A voice behind us asked. When we looked Brax was standing there. Embarrassed, we both pulled away and walked up to him. "The training room is ready. Let's get you acquainted with all of our weapons!" He said. "Yes sir!" I responded, then Jewel stopped me one more time. "So, I'll see you during your training. And thanks again for the locket." She said, then unexpectedly, she kissed my cheek. When she did I felt my tail and ears spring up and I was blushing so hard my face became warm. Good thing she didn't notice because she was talking to Brax. "Good luck with the weapons, Ratchet." She said and made her way to the room. "Ok..." I said looking at her with a lovey dovey face as my ears and tail droped down. "Oh, I see what's going on." Brax said. I turned and said. "What?" "I can't believe I didn't see it sooner. You have a crush on Jewel." He said with a smug look. "Wha- no I don't!" I said as I started blushing again. "Yeah you do. You're blushing." He said. "You know what, how about we go to the training room." I said changing the subject. "If you say so." He said and we went to the training room.
