Thomas Sanders. I love him. And Patton. And Logan. And Virgil. And Roman. (These are not in order from my favorite to least. I love all of the Sanders Sides equally.) This video is a really good metaphor for people who exist outside the gender binary. It is 18 minutes long tho, so maybe watch it after the chapter.
Audrey's POV
"...And then I saw her shirt. It was amazing. Then later, in the hall, she asked me out and I just died. I can't believe Taylor asked me out and now we're dating!" I exclaimed.
"Oh honey, I'm so happy for you two. Is Taylor out to her family?" My mom asked.
"Everyone but her mom. She's extremely traditional and homophobic."
"Oh, well then I won't say anything to her parents when I see them."
"Thanks. Taylor probably thanks you too."
"You're welcome. Now what do you want from McDonald's?"
We were sitting in the car on our way to McDonald's, then Walmart in the rain, waiting at the light. "A cheeseburger, fries, nuggets, and a Coke."
"Someone's hungry." My mom said as the car started moving forward.
"As always-" I was blinded, first by bright lights, then by extreme pain.
The airbags went off, my head and upper body were protected, but the lower half was in drenched in agony. I didn't know what had happened, but dark spots danced across my vision, so many and so big, I almost couldn't see.
"Audrey!"
My mom's voice. She seemed upset. I wonder why.
My legs hurt. And my back did too. Everything just kinda hurt. I think sleep will help. Yeah.......yeah. Sleep is good. I'm gonna go to sleep. G'night.
I woke up for a seconds. My mom's face, tears streaming down her face like waterfalls. Bright white lights. A woman sitting on the other side with her hair pulled back. Then, I went back to sleep, because the sleep was peaceful, and there was no pain in sleep.
