Dragon: Deadly Nadder
Name: DiamondStar
Personality: Thinks of herself as better than most dragons. Very confident of her abilities and loves pretty things
Ahh! I can't believe it! I thought excitedly to myself. I finally get to train with Astrid! The Astrid! DiamondStar and I are gonna rule this training! And look fabulous at the same time! I sung the last part in my head. Astrid greeted me at the gate and I just about fainted with excitement. "Nice to see you again Asta" She spoke to me! She actually spoke to me! Ahh! This is the best day in my life! "Well, I hope you're ready for this. Once you pick your weapon, we're going to start out with a throwing contest". I smiled secretly to myself. Of course, if it's a throwing contest, then I'll win for sure! I gracefully walked over and pretending to think carefully about which weapon I wanted to pick. Besides, I already knew what I'd pick. An axe just like what Astrid uses. Wow! I can't wait for this lesson to begin! I just hope it doesn't end too quickly! I picked up a shiny axe with an amethyst jewel on the top. Perfect! It's as if it was just waiting for me to pick it. I swung the axe over my shoulder and sauntered over to Astrid. I sighed dreamily. Just saying her name makes me all tingly. "Alright Asta. Nice pick. So... Are you ready to start?"
"Oh, I was born ready" I flicked my dirty blonde braid over my shoulder. Bring it on!
We started off by throwing our axes to closer ranged targets. I scored six out of ten and Astrid, obviously, scored ten out of ten. Wow! I'm really pumped up now! Someday, I'll be just as good as her! My eyes sparkled and Astrid smiled nervously. Not used to someone fingerling over her. "Ok. So why don't we try something harder then shall we?"
"Yep!" I said enthusiastically. Eyes still sparkling. We walked from the academy and into the forest where there were targets strewn all over the place ranging from very high in the trees, to very low on the ground. "For this next part we will be riding our dragons and practicing throwing our axes during flight. So, ready for some excitement?" Astrid jumped onto Stormfly and took off into the air. Wow! She is so amazing! "Let's do this DiamondStar!" My dragon bent her head down to allow me to easily get on her. I hopped on and she took flight. Still getting used to riding my new dragon, I was a bit wobbly but smoothed out after a bit. "Come on DiamondStar! We can't lose to her. Let's do this!" I guided my beautifully glamorous dragon downwards towards the targets and carefully aimed my axe. With a loud cry, I threw my axe and it landed just slightly off centre in one of the highest targets. I looked over to Astrid to see how she's doing and founding her whizzing through the air, taking down every target that comes her way. Looks like I've got to step up my game. I smiled and grabbed my axe out of the target as DiamondStar and I zoomed passed. "Alright! Let's go girl!"
2 hours later
"Woohoo! That. Was. Awesome!" I jumped up in the air then promptly sat down. Awesome but exhausting. I puffed quietly. I need a minute. DiamondStar lay down next to me, equally tired. "Well done Asta!", Astrid praised me, "That was some fine axe throwing. You even nearly caught up to me! I look forward to working with you again. But now, let's head back. You have the twins and Snotlout to deal with now". Oh great. I am so looking forward to that. Not. Well I'm sure I'd be fabulous at whatever they put me up to but really. Those three are annoying. And I have to put up with them for the rest of the day! I groaned inwardly. Oh well. Better get it over and done with then. I painfully got up, stretching my sore muscles. Come on DiamondStar. Let's go show them who's gonna rock their training!" DiamondStar sqwarked in agreement and followed after me.
Back at the academy, I painfully went through training with Snotlout. He'd decided that we would fight each other. Some fight that was. I bested him within seconds! Currently, he's holding an ice pack to his head. I had maybe gone a bit too far. Oops. So it didn't come as a surprise to me when he dumped me on the twins straight after. Well, the nerve of that guy! Just because I faired better in a fight against him with no prior experience before doesn't mean he should treat me, a lady, to this kind of treatment! Dump me with the twins. Ha! I'll dump you with Astrid any time of the month. Then see how you would feel. The twins, thankfully, weren't too bad. They put together a Buch of... actually I don't know what they were. They were a bunch of... of something that they put in the middle of the academy. They then told me to instruct DiamondStar to shoot it with her flames and tail spines. They kept saying how it was important to teach your dragon how to do these sorts of things. Which was true, I guess. And I also got to show off my most fabulous dragon and her most amazing abilities as well!
I sank down against the wall outside the academy. Well, that went... fabulous as always! I flicked my hair and smiled as Runa made her way past me, into the academy. She didn't even glance my way. How rude! Well. I guess she does have a good reason for doing so. I looked down sadly. I just hope that one day she could forgive me. Forgive us. I stared after her the gates shut.
