I can't sleep. Maybe it's the fact that I have an overwhelmingly large amount of essays to do and no energy to do any of them. Or, you know, maybe it's because MY ROOMMATE CANNOT STOP SNORING.

"Heyyyyy! That hurt..."

I go to grab my pillow that I chucked at Beth. "Stop snoring."

Beth sits up and glares at me. "So. You lunatic, why are you still up at this ungodly hour?"

I grin at her and reply, "Oh, just the fact that becoming a doctor is hard. AND A LACK OF SLEEP DOES NOT HELP."

"Jeeeez, you need to chill."

Beth gets out of bed and gestures for me to follow her into our small, but lovable, kitchen. Our kitchen is a room filled to the brim with frozen dinner meals, letters and, oddly enough, our socks. The kitchen is my safe-haven, along with the library, and it provides me with the greatest pleasure in life: food.

I sit down at our dining table when loud giggles and squeals throw me out of my food fuelled daze.

Beth groans loudly and exclaims, "For God's sake, KEEP IT DOWN."

The giggles continue, louder than before and closer to our dorm room.

Beth storms towards the door and I follow her.

"Beth, weren't you the one who told me to chill? I think you should follow your own -"

"This bimbo is interrupting my sleep cycle. Nope, she's gonna get what's coming to her."

Beth swings open the door and viciously whispers, "CAN YOU KEEP IT DOWN?"

Beth takes a step back and hides a look of surprise. I walk to the door and who do I see walking out of our neighbour's dorm room? None other than Aiden Stevens. I would be shocked but it is Aiden. I don't think anyone has ever seen him without a girl on his arm, and it's only been a few months.

I step forwards to my doorframe and look directly into Aiden's eyes.

"Stevens, would you mind shutting up your date?"

Aiden looks confused for a second and then smirks. "I'd have had to take this girl out for it to have been a date. "

I grimace and reply, "And that's this conversation over. Goodnight, Stevens."

I move back to close my door but Aiden just moves forward. "And here I thought you enjoyed my company."

"Good joke. Now if you don't mind -"

"Careful, Medusa. Carry on trying to get rid of me and I might just start to think that you don't like me..."

I smirk and say, "This may indicate whether that's true or not."

And I shut the door on his face.

Beth looks at me, then at the door and turns to face me.

"Hmmm, well, that was interesting."

"What was?" I reply.

Beth smiles and exclaims, "Oh, nothing. Except for the fact that you were looking at Aiden like a fat kid looks at chocolate cake."

I give a glare so harsh to Beth that even my mother would be proud. "That is beyond repulsive to even think that I look at Aiden with anything but looks of very mild interest and sometimes disgust."

"Alright, fair enough. He's too much of an idiot for anyone to actually like him. But daaaaaamn, he is hot..." Beth squeals and I cringe.

"Jesus, keep it down Beth, you sound like your neighbour. " Beth's face darkens.
"Also, ew. Aiden is not hot. He is not deformed in any way, I guess but apart from that, he looks like a monkey on steroids."

"Well, it's almost 5am. I'm going back to sleep." Beth stumbles over to her bed and collapses onto her bed. It isn't long before her snores fill the room.

"Aaand, I'm going back to my mind numbing essay with a walrus for roommate snoring to her heart's content. Great."
