Okay, I texted him. But not for the reasons you think, like, the fact that he looks like Michelangelo sculpted Aiden's face or that Beth forced me into it. We got put on a class project together, to research the different methods of transplanting kidneys, depending on the different 'patients' we were given. And even though I love doing reports and research, there is not a chance in hell that I'm creating a model of a kidney by myself.

Me: Hey, is this Aiden?

Aiden: The one and only 😉

Me: Riiiiight, so, we need to meet up and do this class project together. I've researched most of the different transplant methods but trying to make the model is slowly, but surely, crushing my soul.

Aiden: Faraday Library at 2pm?

Me: Cool

Aiden: See you then x

Sorry, did he just text me an 'x'? I barely know the dude and he's texting me '😉's and 'x's. I have known Beth for years and we don't even text each other '😉's. I don't know why this is bothering me so much. Honestly, get a grip, it was just an emoji. I'm acting like Aiden just sent me a marriage proposal (as if I or my parents would ever go for that!). It's fine, it's all good. Maybe I'm just freaking out because I just spoke to Aiden Stevens. Or maybe I'm just hangry... We'll never know...

An hour later, I stumble out of bed (at 1:15pm, don't judge me) and throw on some clothes. A grey maxi skirt, white top and a fringed kimono. And, yes, Beth did force me out of the joggers I was originally planning on going in. I begrudgingly set out of my dorm, with Beth screaming "Talk for longer than one minute, please, for my peace of mind!"

I walk over to the Farady Library, enter through the doors and sit at a desk. I put out my textbooks and research papers and I check my phone. 02:24pm.

Either he doesn't own a clock or he forgot. I'm presuming the latter.

Me: Waiting for you at the library...

Aiden: What do you mean...? I was just sitting right next to you, I got up to grab a book...

Me: Um, no... I am currently sitting alone, with the model we still haven't finished

Aiden: Wait, are you Medusa, the girl who sits next to me in Mr Bailey's lectures?

Me: No, I'm just one of your groupies who wanted to impress you with the masses of research I did for the fun of it. OF COURSE I AM.

I look around and see Aiden in a corner, looking extremely confused at his phone.

I smile and walk up to him and say, "Are phones just too confusing for you? Don't worry, you aren't the only one. My nan also can't figure out how to use her phone... But then again, she is 80."

Aiden looks up at me, and grins."Hey! Okay, so slight problem: A girl, who I thought was my project partner, turns out to have been lying about you two swapping partners... I need your help. "

I look at him and burst out laughing.

"SHUSHHHH, she'll hear you!" Aiden whispers angrily.

I continue laughing. "Medusa, now really is not the time. You have to get rid of her for me!"

My face drops and I look at him inquiringly. "I don't have to do anything, least of all kick one of your groupies to the curb. Did you know that all of your groupies are in one big friend group? I'd be attacked by 20 odd girls for even thinking of taking away this girl's chance of talking to you, let alone actually doing so!!!"

Aiden looks at me pleadingly and exclaims "Please!"

I hold my ground and give him a glare.

Aiden takes a step towards me and smirks at me. "You look pretty today."

I roll my eyes. "I look pretty everyday. Flattery won't get you anywhere with me, but, I will get rid of the girl because it's almost 3pm and we haven't even opened our books."

I give Aiden one last glare and saunter off to where he pointed the girl was. I find her sitting at a table, speaking on the phone, saying that she and Aiden will be a thing by the end of the day. I wait for her to hang up when I take a seat next to her.

"Hey, it's Ronnie, right?"

The girl looks up at me and looks as perky as a cheerleader. Who am I kidding? I bet she is a cheerleader. Ronnie replies, "Yes, I am! It's so nice to meet you but if you don't mind, Aiden Stevens, the son of the Chancellor of this university is studying with me. "

Oh wow. She's only hanging out with him because of his reputation. Talk about a fake fan... Not that I care...

"That's who I'm here to talk to you about. Aiden just found out that his aunt had been rushed to hospital and he has to go there after calling his family. He said he's sorry but he really has to go..."

Ronnie's mouth falls open in a perfect 'o' and starts packing up her things. "Oh well. There's next time, I guess..."

I smile at her and reply, "There's always a next time..."

She beams up at me and walks out of the library.

I walk back to Aiden, with a glare that'd impress my mother, and just look at him. Nice view and all but he has got to cool it with the hair product. I know it's strange that I'm inspecting his hair, but it is lathered with the stuff. Honestly. It looks amazing, obviously but it also looks like it was produced in a factory in Taiwan.

"Hey, thanks for that. What was her name again....Rosie? Roxanne? Rachel....? Rachel seemed alright but she was already getting a bit clingy. I mean, a guy has gotta be able to spread his wings and soar, baby!"

I physically restrain myself from bursting into a fit of laughter and looking like a collapsed dying seal. He may be overtly irritating but he sure can make me laugh. Sorta. Kinda.
