Several moments later, I saw the contours of the oh so familiar house. It gave me a relieved feeling. I was home. I was home after all those years!
I wondered why my cheeks were getting wet, until I realised it were my own tears making my cheeks wet. I had started to cry without noticing it.
Derek noticed the girl crying. It made him wonder why, but didn't ask further. He wouldn't get an answer anyway, so why bother to ask. He headed to the door and knocked on the door. He expected the Sheriff to open the door, but Stiles opened instead. Great.
Stiles went home from Scott when they had waited for Derek to come, but he never showed up. Scott had tried to call him several times, but without any luck. After waiting quite a time, Stiles had decided to go back home. So he could keep his dad company, who had a free night tonight.
Both Stiles and the Sheriff heard someone knocking. "I got it!" Stiles shouted and he got up and ran toward the front door, almost stumbling over his own feet. Who could it be at this time?
He opened the door and frowned by seeing Derek. "Dude, where have you been? We have been trying to call you -" he didn't finish his sentence because he noticed the girl in Derek's arms.
"Why are you carrying a girl?" He frowned again. He hadn't recognized the girl yet. But when he took a closer look, he did.
"Ciara?!" He said in disbelief, his eyes widening.
"You know her?" Derek asked confused.
"Yeah, she's my younger sister! She got missing years ago."
"Stiles?" There were a lot of emotions in my voice. But most of all, happiness. Finally after all those years I saw my older brother again. Who hadn't just been my brother, but also my best friend.
"Stiles.." I repeated soft.
"Dad! Dad come here!" Stiles shouted.
Within thirty seconds, the Sheriff aka my dad, showed up in the door opening. I could see the surprise and happiness in his eyes. But also relieve. He hurried toward me and the guy who was still holding me in his arms. My dad took me from the guy's arms. He looked at him.
"Thanks for bringing her," the Sheriff thanked Derek.
Derek gave a nod as response. "Not a problem," he told the Sheriff.
The Sheriff carried his long lost daughter into the house. Stiles thanked Derek as well, and Derek left. Stiles closed the door and followed the Sheriff to the living room, where he laid Ciara on the couch.
"Ciara.. where have you been all those years?" The Sheriff asked worried, hurt. He had never known what had exactly happened. All he knew that she was suddenly missing, and no one had seen where she had gone. And so no one had seen she was kidnapped.
"Are you alright?" He added.
"Dad.. I'm fine.." I said tiredly. I was tired as hell, and cold. All I wanted right now, was to sleep. I really didn't feel like answering questions right now. Especially not this kind of questions. I looked at him. And than at Stiles. "I really want to sleep, I'm really tired.." I said awkwardly. I didn't like to interrupt their happiness.
"Oh, yeah, sorry. Of course. You must be very tired," Sheriff said, awkwardly as well. "Stiles, could you make her bed ready?" He asked, turning to Stiles, who nodded.
Just a few minutes later I was lying in bed. I must admit I was quite scared. It was very dark in the room. I had been living in darkness all those years. I had never seen any sunlight in all those years. Never. Not even moonlight. All the light I had had, was the light of lamps. And that was it.
In the middle of the night the Sheriff was awakened by screams. And so was Stiles. It wasn't hard to guess from who those screams came from: Ciara. Both worried, they hurried to Ciara's room immediately, at the same time.
"Ciara! Are you alright!" Sheriff asked worried as he sat down on Ciara's bed after he'd turned on the lights in her room. He saw how Ciara was terribly trembling, her eyes widened very wide, her breath was going heavy. Tears were rolling down over her cheek. "Hey.. hey.. it's okay," he whispered soft as he took her in his strong arms. He caressed her back in the meanwhile.
"Stiles," he said while turning to him, "go to bed. I'll take care of her," he added. Stiles hesitated but nodded than, and left.
Sheriff, on the other hand, stayed with Ciara all night. Sheriff saw how scared she was and decided it might be better to stay with her for the night. And so he did. It meant he had no sleep, but he didn't mind. Everything for his daughter. He felt guilty after all, guilty because he hadn't been a good dad. He should've taken better care of his daughter. If he would have, none of this might have happened...
Ciara had fallen asleep in his arms after a long while of crying.
