She ignored what I said and walked away. I was curious that time as to where she lives. So I silently followed her. Minami's house was only a few blocks away from my house. After having an idea on where she lives, I walked back on my way home. I stayed in my room for the mean time again to have some reflection. I was still the naughty, happy-go-lucky guy that time. The next day, at school, I couldn't focus well on the lessons that my professor was teaching, because I was thinking of Minami all the time. I was thinking of getting out of school early again to find her. Luckily, my professor had to go to the comfort room. I took the chance to get out of school right away. I was about to enter her house but then I heard her grandmother talking to someone. 'I won't be existing in this world any longer. I'm extremely worried about Minami, who will look after her?', her grandmother said. 'Don't worry, I'll take her soon and I'll take good care of her. I promise.' the guy said. I found out that the little girl's name is Minami. I stayed in the corner a little while to hear what they're talking about. "Does your wound still hurt? You should have asked for medical expenses!" her grandmother said. "I'm fine, grandma. You don't need to worry about me anymore. It's going to be fine soon." Minami said. "Whom did you take after, and you are so nice? Since your mom wasn't a nice person, you must take after your father." I pity her so much, so I just walked away and decided to go home. I really never cry when I feel pity about someone, I just feel so sad for them. I had never cried when I watched sad movies. I had never cried either, when I heard that somebody died. I thought that I was that kind of man. But on that day, very strangely, I had tears. I couldn't sleep well that night. I kept on thinking about Minami, if she is well and does she have something to eat. That night, I slowly went out of my room and went down to quietly get every single food in our refrigerator. I placed them on my backpack. Then I quietly went outside of our house and I went to Minami's house. There, I left the goods I took from our refrigerator. The next morning, Mom was freaking out, "Dad! Wake up quickly! Our refrigerator was robbed! Probably, a robber came!". "What are you talking about in the early morning, huh? You're probably just -- Oh no! Who on earth robbed nothing else but in the refrigerator?" dad replied. I went outside to visit Minami. I saw her walking from school, carrying some heavy stuff. I ran to her and quickly carried her stuff. "Minami! Give it to me.", I said. "No, I can handle this already." she replied. "Nah, just let me carry it. Your wrist is going to hurt. Girls shouldn't be carrying heavy stuffs, you know.", I said. "Then just help me carry that from here to my house", she said. "Ah, is that your house over there?", I replied. She seemed shy to answer me because she was embarrassed to show me her small house. When we are near her house, she stopped and said, "It's here. Give it to me.". "Keep moving. I'll leave these heavy stuff inside your house.", I said. As I stepped in to the gate of her house, she blocked my way again and said, "I said it's here. Just let me take it. Thank you very much for helping me. Take care and go home". She seemed embarrassed to show her house, but I still insisted to carry her heavy stuff, all the way inside her home.
