Chapter 2: Swimming

We walked into the edge of the pool and looked into the water.

"You wanna jump?" She asks me.

"Fine.." I said, considering I never jumped in the water before.

"Ready?"

"Wait! I have to get my goggles first." I said as I put on my green goggles. She chuckles.

"Do you really need those?" She asked.

"Yea I need them!" I said.

"Whatever you say." She giggles at me while I rolled my eyes.

"Alright ready?" She took a hold of my hand.

"Ready!" I said, I gripped her hand tightly. We both jumped into the pool together. We pop up from the surface and laughed. I begin to shiver on how cold the pool's water is.

"You cold?" She asks me.

"Y-yea." I shivered.

"Then get wet!" She splashes water on me.

"Lapis, stop!!" I shouted as I tried not to laugh. Lapis laughed as she holds onto my hips in the water.

"Sorry! I had to!" She giggled. I playfully rolled my eyes and smiled.

"You still have that floaty thing?" I asked her.

"Oh, yeah! I'll go get it." Lapis said as she got out of the pool. I saw her go in the closet under the house and got out a big blue float. It was one we can both sit on.

"Ok, you can get on it now!" Lapis says.

"Okay!" I said as I swam towards the float. I quickly got on and waited for Lapis to swim back in the pool. She eventually got on top of the float with me. We both floated onto the pool with the float. It was so peaceful. I felt her grasped my hand tightly. I blushed, but thankfully, she didn't notice.

"Hey Peri?" She asks.

"Hm?"

"I'm really glad you came over." She smiles at me.

"Y-yea." I said nervously as I looked away. After a few hours in the pool, we both eventually got out. We went inside her house and changed.

"Hey, what time you gotta be home?" She asks. I looked at the time. It was three o'clock.

"About an hour." I replied.

"Ok, wanna watch a movie then?"

"Yeah sure." I said as I sat beside her on the bed, looking at the TV.

"Let's watch a scary movie!" I smirked. 

"No." She instantly says as she tries to search for a movie on Netflix.

"Why not? I'm here if you ever get scared." Lapis rolled her eyes as she picked the movie, Moana. I wrapped an arm around her as she snuggled towards me. By the time the movie ended, it was time for me to go.

"Do you have to leave?" Lapis asks as she watches me pack my clothes.

"Yes, but I don't want too. I rather stay here with you all day." I winked at her. Lapis snorted as she helps me pack my things.

"Peridot, you're mother is here to pick you up!" Ms. Lazuli called.

"I'm coming!" I called back.

"You ready?" She asks me.

"Yeah." I nodded as Lapis exits me out of her house.

"I'll see you later then nerd." Lapis smirked as she hugs me.

"Yeah. Later!" I said as I hugged her back. I walked to my mom's car and waved goodbye to Lapis.

"I'll text you!" I shouted as my mom started to drive off.

"Okay!" She shouts back. I smiled as I leaned backwards onto my seat.

"So, how was the sleepover with you and Lapis?" My mom asks.

"It was fun." I told her as I looked at the car door window.

"What did you two girls do?"

"Well we watched some movies, swam in the pool, and hang out I guess." I said.

"Well that's nice." She says as she continues driving. I sigh as I looked out the window. I probably won't get to see Lapis again until school starts. Plus I only got a month before summer ends so, at least I got to hang out with her before school started.

I got back home and I immediately went on my laptop. Yeah, that's the first thing I do every time I get home. I went on YouTube and began to binge watch Jacksepticeye playing Undertale.

Four hours has past and I was getting really exhausted, so I decided to close my laptop, and go to bed. While I got up, I grabbed my phone and decided to text Lapis what she was up to.

"Hey Lapis! :D" I texted her. I walked to my bedroom and plunged my face into my pillow. I was hoping she would reply. I finally heard a ding sound from my phone and lifted it up.

"Hi Peri! Miss me already? ;)" I blushed madly as I read her reply.

"Maybe..." I texted back, smiling. Thirty seconds later, she texted back.

"You seriously can't get enough of me huh?" I blushed again at her text. Was she flirting with me? 

"I guess I can't. ;)" I flirted back.

"Well, I'm sleepy so I'm going to bed. Ttyl! <3" She texted.

"Goonight!" I replied and turned off my phone. My heart was pounding over our short conversation. Damn it Lapis, why did you made me feel this way?

I sighed as looked up at the dark ceiling above me. I couldn't stop thinking about Lapis. All I want is Lapis to be here with me and I want to hear her voice again. How I wanted her to hold my hand again, and how I wanted her in my arms.

I took off my glasses and I tried to fall asleep, but it was difficult since I kept thinking about Lapis this whole time. I felt lonely in my own bed. I just want Lapis to be here with me, then everything will be fine.

But too bad she probably doesn't like me back. Why would she love someone like me? I sighed as I slammed my face into my pillow. Lapis still fills my thoughts throughout the night so far. I can still feel my heart beating fast since I read her texts on the phone. I could still hear her voice echo in my head.

This was going to be really difficult.
