[Y/n] is a simple girl. The middle child to an annoying younger brother and older sister. She got average grades in less than average classes and was living a pretty bland life.
Except for one tiny detail.
"Come on, Rea!"
Rea was an alien.
At least, [Y/n] believed Rea was an alien.
Rea was very similar to a cat, but instead was thinner with long legs and extremely soft and fluffy. Feathered wings rested on her sides, giving her an ability to flutter rather than fly. Instead of meowing, Rea made sounds similar to pigeons, for some reason.
The cat-like alien made a cooing sound before hopping down from the couch and into a small satchel on the side of [Y/n]'s hip. She lightly flipped it closed and ran out of the back door. [Y/n] had a decent sized tree house from back when she was a kid and had now transformed it to her own lab. It was decently decorated, having a bean bag and a nice desk, but was also very cluttered, small tinkered inventions littering the desk and floor.
[Y/n] grunted with effort as she quickly climbed up the tall ladder up to the roof of the tree house. She fished around for her binoculars in her satchel and stopped a second to pet Rea's wings. [Y/n] lifted the binoculars from her satchel to her eyes as she scanned the old mountain's surface. From childhood, [Y/n] made it her job to be the protector of the mountain only a 30 minute walk from her own house. Rea made a cooing sound, her small head looking up to the cloudy sky.
"What's wrong, Rea?", [Y/n] soothingly brushed her hand against Rea's head as she follows the alien's(?) gaze.
[Y/n]'s eyes widened as some sort of comet broke through the clouds, glowing a royal purple, and hit the surface of the mountain.
"What do you think, Rea?", [Y/n] looked down to the small animal in her bag as Rea stared toward the now smoking side of the mountain. "Should we check it out?"
Rea made a cooing sound before jumping out of the bag and begin to flutter her small wings in anticipation.
"Alright, let's get my coat."
[Y/n] slid down the ladder, stopping momentarily inside to grab a few important devices like ropes and a grappling hook. She reached the base of the ladder and ran back inside, grabbing her thick brown fuzzy coat and a white scarf, stumbling as she slid on her boots. She picked up her satchel, Rea already snug inside.
"I'll be back in a few hours, Mom!", [Y/n] yelled through the hallway.
"Just be home before seven!"
[Y/n] looked at the time. 1 PM.
"Got it!"
The door slammed shut behind [Y/n] as she ran toward the mountain.

[Y/n] retracted the grappling hook as she peered over the tall rock she was hiding behind. There were some sort of armored sentries standing around some sort of flat ground, which was unnatural for an extremely rocky mountain. The snow fell delicately around, giving a small fraction of protection.
"What do you think, Rea? Should we go check it out?", [Y/n] whispered, opening the top of her satchel to look down at Rea who poked her head out to look at the sentries. Rea leaned forward slightly, making a low growling sound. [Y/n] was quick to place a few fingers in front of Rea's mouth, making her quiet as a nearby sentry looked toward the rock they were hiding behind. [Y/n] sighed in relief as the guard turned away.
"Alright new plan."
[Y/n] shot out her grappling hook to attach to a ledge several meters above them. She hoped that it was sturdy enough to haul her and Rea up and retracted the hook so she shot up. She landed slightly out of line, her foot bending oddly so she fell toward the wall.
At least, what she thought was a wall.
[Y/n] screamed as she tumbled through the somehow alive greenery covering the "wall" and tumbled down a slanted, flat surface, trying not to crush Rea in the process. She groaned when she landed, her face against the freezing cold stone.
"You good, Rea?", [Y/n] asked, opening the satchel to let Rea out, who made a cooing noise in return. "Okay, where are we?"
[Y/n] slowly stood and took in her surroundings. There were carvings everywhere about some type of robotic lion. It was next to five other lions, being smaller than four of them.
"Woah", [Y/n] said breathlessly, running her fingertips over one of the carvings. She jumped back as the carvings began to glow a bright blue, lighting up the area around her. There were these carvings covering the walls, ceiling, and even on the floor. She gasped as a single line began to run down the rest of the hallway, seemingly leading her somewhere. She slowly walked, mesmerized by the intricate designs.
[Y/n] came to a complete stop when the walls expended to a large room.
In there was a majestic, white, mechanical lion.
