The embrace was firm and safe, everything Jungkook remembered from four years ago. The safety and protection, the scent of cologne and the husky yet welcoming tone of the man.
"Yoongi hyung, I've missed you." He finally spoke, pulling away from the hug to look into the eyes of the shorter, older male.
The mint haired man gave him a gentle yet gummy smile before he spoke. "Hoseok told me you were back. He spoke with Jin hyung, apparently."
"I guess most everyone knows I'm back now, huh."
Yoongi nodded, laughing slightly before glancing to the hospital building behind him and looking back to Jungkook quickly. "Who all have you seen? Since you've been back, I mean."
Jungkook shrugged. "You and Jin hyung. I haven't gotten to see the others yet. I heard you and Jimin hyung are together now, congratulations hyung." he smiled, patting the elder's shoulder.
The raven haired male grinned again, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. "Thank you, Jungkookie. I'm happy. We're happy." he inhaled quickly before looking at the taller maknae again. "So, why are you out here? I mean.. the hospital isn't that interesting." he gave an awkward laugh, studying the younger's facial expressions to see if he knew anything about Taehyung.
Jungkook gave him a slightly puzzled expression, sensing the nervous laughter Yoongi was giving. "Actually, I was interested in the garden. The roses are blooming excessively, it's intriguing." he grinned slightly, still curious as to why Yoongi was questioning him.
"Ah." the elder of the two nodded, "Well, why not join me for breakfast? Jimin will be joining me soon, it would give you a chance to see him." he suggested, trying to change the subject.
Jungkook nodded, quickly agreeing. "Of course. I would enjoy seeing Jimin hyung again."
"Yah! Let's go, I'll call Jimin to let him know we're coming." He said with a happier, more sing-song-y tone, unlike his usual monotone voice as he pulled his phone from his pocket and dialed Jimin's number, telling him to meet them at the cafe.

"Jungkook-ah~!!" Jimin squealed excitedly as he ran to his friend, wrapping him in a tight hug which was quickly returned by the younger. "You've been away too long!"
Jungkook laughed, ruffling his hyung's fading pink hair. "I know, mianhae. I won't stay away as long next time."
"Next time? No, no no~ you have to stay here! Don't go away again, Jungkookie!!" Jimin's hyper, high pitched squealing and whining caused the younger to chuckle. He knew Jimin was hyped on caffeine, blaming at least half of his hyperactive reactions on that.
After all the greetings and laughter, they found their way to a table and seated themselves. Yoongi ordered coffee, black. Jimin, hot chocolate, per Yoongi's orders. And for Jungkook, water. The waitress gave them all a sweet smile before walking off to get their drinks.
Yoongi held Jimin's hand firmly but gently under the table, causing a light pink shade to grace the boy's cheeks, nearly matching his faded pink hair. Jungkook shook his head, watching the scene before him. 'Lovebirds~' he thought to himself, carrying on a casual conversation with the two until the waitress returned with their beverages. "Thank you, Jisoo." Yoongi read the name tag and smiled to the girl, who returned her smile before uttering a soft 'you're welcome'.
The three of them continued talking until Jimin spoke up with a new topic. "So, have you been to see Taehyung?" he questioned, his expression softening slightly. Yoongi squeezed his knee, giving him a slightly scolding glare which made the younger hush immediately. Jungkook tilted his head curiously, almost an automatic reaction when he saw the looks Yoongi was giving Jimin. "No, not yet.. Do you have his number? I lost it when I switched phones-"
"No." Yoongi cut him off quickly. "I mean-" he continued before Jimin cut him off. "I have it."
Yoongi stared blankly at Jimin, his expression turning slightly softer after a few seconds of Jimin's puppy eyes. He sighed, turning back to look at Jungkook. "It's complicated. But we can't explain, you'll have to ask Taehyung yourself."
Jungkook nodded slowly as Jimin entered the number into his phone and saved the contact. The youngest took his phone back, looking over the number quickly before setting his phone aside and paying for his water. "Yah, thank you for inviting me Yoongi hyung. I'll see you both later?"
They nodded in unison, standing to give the maknae a quick hug before returning to their seats. "Annyeong Jungkookie~!" Jimin smiled sadly, watching his friend wave as he left.
"It was the right thing to do." Jimin said as he looked from the door to his boyfriend who was sitting beside him, rubbing his temples. "What will he do if he finds out what Taehyung did though? It could crush him.. I don't want that to happen."
Jimin placed a hand on Yoongi's cheek, causing the older male to look him in the eyes and allowing the younger to see the clear concern on his expression. "We can't protect him forever. It's better that he knows." He leaned in, placing a soft kiss on Yoongi's nose which caused the older to scrunch it up before he playfully ruffled the younger's hair. "You're right." he agreed, sighing softly.
"Saranghae~" Jimin hummed out, giving an eye smile to the older.
"Saranghae." he replied, pecking his cheek as he took the younger's smaller hand in his own and gave is a gentle squeeze.

Jungkook headed back to the hotel, pulling his phone out and looking at the number Jimin had given him again. He let out a sigh, running a hand through his hair with his free hand before he put the phone away. His stomach felt tight, like it was tied in a knot. He was shaking, and his heartbeat was quickening ever so slightly. He tried taking a deep breath, resulting in a shaky gasp for air. He stopped, crouching and resting his elbows on his knees and burying his face in his hands. He felt dizzy, and claustrophobic. After a few more shaky, uneven breaths, everything went dark. The male fell back on the pavement, phone hanging loosely out of his jacket pocket. After a few minutes, it began to ring.
Incoming call from Seokjinnie Hyung . . .
