Three days had passed since Taehyung's incident, and he had finally woken up after being unconscious for about 24. Slightly delirious and confused, he winced at the pain in his arms when he tried to sit up in his bed. By then, Jungkook had been released from the hospital and was told to go home. Of course, he didn't listen and ended up staying in Taehyung's room. His slim but muscled figure was curled into a ball on the couch not too far away from the bed where the older sat. Seokjin and Namjoon had left not too long ago, after Jungkook had fallen asleep on the couch. Being the 'parent figures' they were, they had made him comfortable with a blanket and pillow before leaving.
At first, Taehyung hadn't noticed the maknae who was sleeping quietly on the couch. He glanced around the room that was beginning to fill with soft rays of sunshine as the sun began to rise. Subtle movement and a soft yet obviously irritated groan caught the boy's attention as his gaze quickly moved to the couch. Seeing the sleeping boy covering half of his face with the blanket, a soft smile graced his soft lips. He looked so calm, so peaceful. After a few moments of gazing at the boy, he came to a sudden realization. He was still alive. Pausing his actions, he glanced down to his wrists and saw the bandages. They ached and itched, but he couldn't do anything about it. He did it to himself and he knew it. "Shi--" he stopped himself, realizing that his voice was a bit louder than he would have liked. He glanced to Jungkook, who was now stirring. Memories began to flood his thoughts, remembering the garden and the mansion. The white room, and.. Jungkook.
'It was just a dream,' he told himself. 'It wasn't real.' he continued mumbling to himself in his thoughts. Unknowingly, he had been staring at Jungkook who was now fully awake and sitting up on the couch. The younger was rubbing his eyes before running his long fingers through his messy, dark brown hair. 'Holy..' Taehyung realized he was staring when Jungkook lifted his own gaze to meet his. He quickly moved his eyes elsewhere, trying to push the thoughts that were rushing into his mind away. 'Shut up, stop. No. Kim flipping Taehyung shut up.' he muttered repeatedly in his thoughts, trying to push the others away. Before he knew it, Jungkook was standing at his bedside, looking down at him and then to his arms with a sorrowful expression.
"Taehyung hyung.." he spoke softly, noticing that the older wouldn't look him in the eyes and seemed to be avoiding any visual contact at all. Instead of speaking, Taehyung simply hummed to acknowledge that he was listening.
"Why.. why did you?" he asked carefully, sitting on the chair that was beside the bed as he gently gripped the older's hand. Taehyung winced, feeling the stitches stretch when he tried to move his hand away from Jungkook's.
"I had to." He responded shortly, his tone cold and his face expressionless. He was staring at his arms, avoiding looking at Jungkook at all costs.
His cold tone made Jungkook shiver and shrink away, pulling his hand back to his side as he looked down at the floor. There was a brief silence that filled the air before Jungkook felt a fabric like material mixed with the soft touch of skin on his arm. He looked up with pleading, heartbroken eyes that were met with a gaze that practically begged for forgiveness. No words were exchanged for a few more seconds before Jungkook placed his hand carefully over Tae's on his arm. Soft smiles tugged at the corners of their lips before Taehyung finally spoke. His voice was deep and raspy as he let the words fall off his tongue smoothly. "Jungkook-ah, I'm sorry. Forgive me. Please. I never meant to hurt you.. I was just-" he stopped when Jungkook cut him off, his lips pursing together at his firm tone.
"Stop. It's not your fault." he stated in a deeper, more commanding tone. Taehyung had never heard his voice that way before, and it gave the older goosebumps. "It's me who should apologize to you. I left, I know I shouldn't have. I wanted to see the world, but-" he was cut off by a tight squeeze on his arm, making him gasp slightly from the pinch.
"Mianhae, but I have something to say.." he apologized, clearing his throat for a moment before he continued. "I've been having.. dreams."
Jungkook raised a brow at him, shifting in his seat to make himself more comfortable. "Hyung, we all dream. Don't we?"
Taehyung shook his head. "These are different. It's the same thing every time. The same location. A rose garden, with a swing that's in the shadow of a beautiful mansion. This past time, I noticed something. Blood on my clothes. It happened sometime after my.. incident. But a voice compelled me to go into the mansion. And.."
He stopped, inhaling shakily. "They put me in a white room," he glanced around, seeing the white walls and everything else that somewhat resembled what he saw in his dream. "Much like this one." He gestured around the room with his free arm, although moving it so quickly made it ache, causing him to groan before he set it down again and continued.
"While I was in the room.. you came in and-" he continued pausing, trying not to show the nervous glint in his eyes as he looked over to Jungkook again. "We ended up.."
Jungkook tilted his head, peering at his hyung with growing curiosity. He hadn't forgotten what had happened the day before, but he wasn't about to admit it to the delirious man before him. "What is it, hyung?"
Taehyung shook his head, offering a nervous smile to the younger. "It's nothing, never mind."
"Yah, hyung please. Tell me?"
"No, no. It's nothing, really."
"I know you're lying, hyung." he said in his deeper voice again, giving him a scolding glare before softening his expression again.
"I can't.." he said with pleading eyes, showing the fear that he couldn't express openly.
"It's okay, I'll listen." he reassured the older, giving him a soft smile.
"Jungkookie.."
"Jebal?"
"We.." he paused, his voice growing shaky. "We kissed."
