After the marvelous adventure of Thorin Oakenshield and his men and the unusual tag along of a hobbit, he claimed his rightful throne of being king under the mountain.

But he learned of something from his wise and loyal adviser, Balin.

"Thorin. You have 4 days time to find a consort or one will be given to you by the council of the dwarves understood?"

He nodded to Balin assuring the dwarf that he'd understood, even though he had already been told the rule by Dwalin. He hadn't really had a love interest...

One that his subjects would be very fond of anyway, but nevertheless Balin nor Dwalin had told him that it had to be of a specific gender or species.

They'd just said it had to be a consort and someone who would be beneficial to the kingdom.

Thorin had first fell for the frail little hobbit when he noticed that Bilbo took interest in whatever beauty he saw in nature; good or bad.

Bilbo was very cute when he was stubborn or scared about something.

The way his medium length honey curls reflected the suns light with pure beauty.

Finally Thorin settled to bring the friendliest of his men;

Bofur who seemed to be fond of the hobbits sense of humor and his endless tales and secretly his favorite,

Kili and Fili since they were heir to the throne and liked having bilbo around,

Balin his right hand man,

Bombur the idiotic one and Ori and Nori.

After 2 days passed, the company set off down the mountain for his soon to be husband.

That is of he were to even agree to this foolishness.

Kili and Fili were in their carts fooling about while Bofur was looking at his surroundings then chuckling; he must've been imagining the first time they'd reclaimed their beloved mountain. So many hardships and memories were etched into the flora surrounding us.

Of course silly Bombur was eating away til the first stop.

Ori and Nori were having conversation on what needed to be done around the mountain and what didn't.

Thorin on the other hand had only one thing on his mind: Bilbo Baggins of Bag End.

* Weeks later *

📚

Bilbo was quite busy after his return from retrieving the dwarves mountain and gold.

His relatives rejoiced when he came back to Bag End.

There was a humongous feast— a feast for a hobbit.

Bilbo loved his home more than anything. The smell of honey and books always lingered in the air, bringing him a sense of comfort that he'd come to love.

However, he was missing some of the bravest people he met on his dangerous expedition, such as Bofur, Bombur, Nori, Ori and Balin.

But there was one in particular he was missing; Thorin Oakenshield. King under the Mountain.

He'd personally thought that Thorin was beautiful.

The way that his pitch black hair caressed his hardened face and the way his piercing blue determinate eyes glistened.

Alas he knew that Thorin proved no slight interest in him.

Bilbo began to rummage through his work once more. Perhaps focusing on that will distract him from his wondering mind. That was cut short however, when a loud knock pierced his emerald door.

There stood the very dwarf he was trying to forget; Thorin Oakenshield. With half of his company standing in his shadow.

"Hello Thorin? Uh, what is it?"

Bilbo asked clearly confused. The burly dwarf walked up to him

"Hobbit.... Will you marry me."

Clearly Bilbo was a little taken with his boldness since he wasn't expecting this, but he was a little honored.

"I need to ponder upon this. How long do I have to pack?"

Hastily the kings eyes darted around as much as he could see of Bilbo's study and calculating how much time he'd need.

"Hmm I'll give you until tomorrow.... In the meantime, me and my men will find someplace to camp." Thorin exclaimed

"Okay then. When you return for me there I will have my answer for you." Bilbo said hastily.

With that Thorin shut the door leaving him to drown in his thoughts.

The hobbit knew he had to be more sensible.

It would be irrational for the hobbit to just jump into a marriage so hastily. Especially with a male dwarf; it was unheard of.

He was a Baggins, and a hobbit nevertheless. They were raised upon the ideal that the mind was the ultimate weapon.
