Without You......

* 3 days later *

Thorin prepared for his loves funeral, which was the most painful thing he'd suffered.

He dressed in all grey and looked at the wedding ring he wore.

A memory of great joy flooded his mind and he fondled with the ring p

"Thorin I beg of you, could you please wear this ring? It was the ring my father gave my mother, and it would be a honor for you to wear it."

These were the words Bilbo spoke to him on their wedding day.

Gladly Thorin put it on for his lover, for he could see no reason not to.

Suddenly reality came back to give Thorin a slap in the face.

How he longed to get back Bilbo, but alas he knew he'd never get his burglar back.

Yes he still called Bilbo his burglar, but because he stole Thorin's heart.

A small yawn echoed through out of his room.

Slightly a smile spread across his face.

Only his twins and his family (along with the company) could bring him joy, even though Thoria looked a lot like Bilbo which caused him to weep from time to time.

She had curly black hair, and green eyes, although he did not know where she'd gotten them from. And there was a small bit of fuzz on her little toes.

But Dörta had told him that she was slightly bigger than a average hobbit baby.

Then there was Thrace, who'd had taken after his looks.

But his hair was curly like Bilbo's and was chocolate brown.

Thrace had his blue eyes and that kind of distant look in his eye that Bilbo swore Thorin always had.

Even though he lost Bilbo he swore to Mahal he wouldn't let anyone or thing touch his twins.

"Thorin, it's time to head to the service for Bilbo's passing."

Gandalf was standing in his doorway leaning heavily on his staff.

"I know this must be hard on you, but it seems you show lack if emotion on this day. It's rather suspicious....."

Nothing would come out from Thorin's mouth but a small wimper.

Of course he was hurting, but he had a kingdom to rule and could not spend all his time wallowing.

Besides he did enough of that through out the night.

"There's nothing the matter her my good friend, I've just seemed to run out of tears."

That was a complete lie, and Gandalf seemed to know that it was.

Gandalf however made no effort to confront to matter but instead let it go.

( ⛄️❄️let it go, let it go, can't hold it back anymore, let it go, let it go, turn my back and slam the door. Hehe sorry I couldn't resist the temptation❄️⛄️.)

"I will be down shortly, I am only waiting for their sitter-"

A red-headed she-elf came bounding in the room.

"I am here King Thorin, hello. Sorry I'm late but my friend Dörta and I were talking and-"

Thorin smiled and put up a dismissive hand.

"No need to apologize it's quite alright, I wasn't really ready to leave but now that you're here I'll be on my way.

Her eyes glinted with appreciation.
