"Kit hand me my pencil right this instant!" I say as I walk back into the classroom this time, with my homework in hand.

"I let you borrow my pencil yesterday, and then you just had to drop it in the hallway. You owe me a pencil." Kit says, sticking his tongue out at me.

I stride across the room to our table, snatching it from his hand. "I don't think so. I helped you with the homework last night, so you can just shut it." He shrugs and sits back and I jump onto my stool looking around the classroom.

It's only World of Magic History class, I still have the whole day ahead of me... The room was very organized and welcoming. Stone walls, dark wood flooring, torches lighting the rooms and halls... yet there were no windows, the Council says it's for safety reasons.
Every classroom had wooden tables with stools for two students to sit at. At this school, they assign you with someone that has pretty much the opposite power as you.

And yes, you most likely guessed it right. Kit has water guns for hands, he has some pretty cool combat tricks I guess but I always beat his butt when we spar.
Onto that subject, Kit Grove. Total moron, all he does is make jokes and prank people. He's incredibly smart and talented but is too busy daydreaming in class to pay attention to the lesson and always asks me for help after classes.

The Academy is the highest rated magical school in the world, you don't even have to be smart to get in all you need to do is impress them with skilled power.

"Good morning class!" A woman with a long robe in the Academy colors, gold and blue, strolled into the room slamming the door shut behind her without even touching it.

"Good morning Professor Kyndal."

"Even though it's Friday you know very well the semester test is coming up... that is... after the Day. So get out your homework from yesterday and bring it up to my desk." Everyone groaned and slowly got up heading over to her.

The bell rang and I jumped out off of my stool shoving everything into my backpack. "Grab the assignment off of the table near the door before you go!" Professor Kyndal called out to the students who were booking it.

I pick up my backpack putting on one strap before I walk up, grabbing a paper. You're kidding me, 50 review questions?
I walk out of the classroom with Kit right next to me. Not like I can do anything about it, you always share a locker with your partner and go to the same classes. Lucky me. I thought sarcastically as I look him up and down.

I guess I've never really bothered looking at him before. His hair was absolutely crazy, probably because he doesn't even try to gel it. He has bright green eyes which in my opinion clashes with the his blue uniform.
We stopped at our locker and normally at this time of day we remain quiet but he was bounding off to go talk to our friend William.

"I'll meet you in class." I say as I walk by Kit, shoving his shoulder teasingly.

I walk into the bathroom looking in the mirror. I got a bruise below my eye last week from our duel, don't ask how it happened... it's embarassing.
I grabbed my brush and fixed my ponytail quickly, annoyed with the brunette strands sticking out.

Class will start soon and when that door closes I'm done for. I throw my bag onto my back and I sprint down the hallway, my black uniform boots making little click sounds as I go.
I slow down when I get to the door and I put my hands on my knees gasping for air. A few students around me are out of breath too, hurrying to their classes.

I walk out of the Academy after packing up all of my homework into my backpack. Kit comes sprinting up behind me. "So, the Day is on Monday. If you sum that up, we have technically 3 days to get this homework done." He says with a smug look on his face.

"I don't know if you're including today, which it sounded like you weren't, or talking about the day we run for our lives." I say before laughing hard.

"I totally meant Friday." He said as serious as possible.

We walked past the gates before turning to the forest trail that led to the dorms. They're like apartments, you and your partner live in the same building. They started enforcing the partner system the year before I came here. Apparently they say it's for organization purposes.
We step off the trail once we reach the stone trail leading up to our dorm house. Two other students who lived there patiently waiting behind us as we got out the keys and unlocked the front door.

"Took you long enough," Kit said before bolting up the stairs for his dorm before I smacked him.

"I'll get revenge later." I say to myself glaring at the slammed door.

"Who's on dinner duty tonight?" Jasmine, one of the students living in our dorm house says while walking down the stairs.

"You and William are, last night was our's" Kit says starting to walk up the stairs with his books under his arm.

"Have fun!" I laugh, following Kit up the stairs to the lounge room.
