At this time, halfway through the ball I was talking to Jasmine and a group of girls. Suddenly a light orb flashes around the room getting everyone to look up and notice one of the higher staff ladies standing at a balcony that us students were forbidden to go to.

"Attention ladies and gentlemen, we are going to begin the formal dance, everyone is required to dance so please go to the floor and begin when the music starts. Do not start with your partner pick someone different, and make sure to smile the school news cameras have their eyes on you!" She says gleefully before waving us off and disappearing behind the doors.

She's kidding surely, well if the school is watching I can't be seen running off to the garden it's impossible without someone noticing. We all frown and get up from a table we were sitting on a raised floor, then we start walking down the small flight of stairs and seperating into the forming crowd.

I awkwardly stand to the side acting like I'm studying the bundles of flowers on a window ledge when I hear someone clear their throat behind me. I whirl around and immediantly glare when I see a grinning Matt.
"Cameras are watching, you can't say no Amity." He says with the most evil flash in his eyes and I sigh taking a step toward him.

We walk to the dance floor and the music begins, and so we all waltz. "I have something to tell you." He says looking around at the cameras as if he is counting and I assure you he is not intelligent enough to do that without a chart.

"Of course you do, what is it now negative Nancy." I say narrowing my eyes at him.

We make eye contact, both of us holding it firmly for atleast a minute before his flickers to the floor. "There's something up with Kit, I can feel it." He says in a low voice, leaning in to my ear.

I roll my eyes. "That's all you had to tell me?"

"Let me just cut to the point. We, Lily and I, think he's plotting against you. Tonight in the arena he will sabotage you so he can seem as the winner. He feels as if you're in the way, he doesn't need you nor want you." He says quietly looking at my face for a reaction.

I furrow my eyebrows thinking for a moment. "And you're proof? Are you positive this is happening." I didn't mean to answer him that way it felt as if a force controlled me to sound interested.

"I am very positive, I have the evidence in this note he wrote in a journal of his during class. He ripped it out and dropped it in the hallways, I saw it myself. Follow me and I can show you." He stares right into my eyes and I  can't move mine from it.

I wanted to shove him away and run to the garden without a care for the cameras, I wanted to run and find Kit to see if this was a hoax, but instead the same force flooded over me again and against my will I answered.
"Lead the way."

"Excellent." He hisses into my ear and grabs my elbow leading me to the school hallways and into a class he has for his math, I heard the teacher here favors him and lets him use it anytime he wants.

He shoves me into the classroom and spins around shutting the door and walks over to me. I stare at him with caution as he goes over to his backpack perched on a chair, sifting through it and then pulls out a sheet of notebook paper.
"This is it. Read it." He stands there holding it out and I hesitate, but I continue on feeling that same presence forcing me to go with it.

Hands shaking, I grab the paper and unfold it. "Read it aloud." He demands and I take a deep breath.

"So this is it, the last week of school before the Social and the Day. The spar should be simple, I have a plan that Amity doesn't know of. I need this win for me, and me alone. She will be the perfect bait, she's useless anyway without discovering her legendary form yet. It's only a matter of days now, I can't wait, especially for the Day when I can rid of the flame who never goes away." It ends there and a tear slips from my eyes and falls onto the paper, smearing the word flame.

"This is all lies." I say, balling up the paper and glaring at him.

"How so? The proof is there, you know his hand writing, the fancy cursive has always been a perk of his you liked." He says with a smug expression.

My hand holding the paper lights up and the paper turns to ashes falling to the floor. Now he's provoked me. I take a deep breath trying to calm the wild flames burning in my heart, out of control and spreading all around.
"You're trying to ruin our chances of winning the spar by tearing us apart." I spit at him, but instead of answering he hushes me, making me even more mad.

I can't say anything or move, storm students control many things, and I assume he has mastered controlling people.
I stand there frozen as he strides across the room, unable to move my eyes widen in fear, something I haven't felt in such a long time.

He shoves me into desks, anger igniting in his eyes. Now that he is distracted I can move and my hands spark causing bon fires for hands and I slam them together.
A shield of flames falls into my right hand and I hold it up taking in deep breaths.

His hands start crackling with electricity and his lifts his left one up, charging at me and punching my shield.
Both of us fly backwards, my shield gone in a flash as well as his electricity.

"Save it for the spar, coward." Another voice arrives at the doors.

We turn to look and see Kit standing there, in complete rage. Matt gets up and without saying a word leaves, sneaking back out to the party.
I wipe off my dress, my hands shaking. Kit grabs my arm and drags me out of the classroom, back out to the ballroom, somehow sneaking up across the floor, and into a closet in which he makes sure is locked once we are in.

"Care to explain?" He says leaning against the wall, arms crossed.

"Speak for yourself, I thought I didn't matter." I spit at him and he raises an eyebrow in confusion.

"What are you talking about?"

"The note, don't act like you don't know. He showed me everything." I wasn't meaning to say this, but the flames had taken over my mind and my heart did its best to fight it.

"What note? What did he do to you Blu you look like you've been through another water seizure." He says his eyes filled with worry.

I take a deep breath and tell him all that had happened. We clear up what happened but stand in silence.
"Let's go, we can go and sit with my team I'm sure they left as soon as the staff said we were free to do whatever again."

I sigh but this time I agree with it and we sneak back up the stairs to the level surrounding the floor from above where the tables are planted.
We reach them and I talk to a sleepy Jasming while the boys huddle close together, Kit telling them the story quietly.

The time for the spars quickly approached and before we knew it, we were walking over to the arena with the cameras following.
