Chapter Two
Lucca
"I haven't heard from Gabi in four hours." Aiden mutter under his breath as he checks his phone for the fifth time in two minutes.
I roll my eyes as I continue to look over some papers that Aiden has scattered across his desk.
He really needs to get organized.
Isabella and I arrived in D.C. early this morning. She went straight to Gabi's house, leaving me at the airport. On top of that, she took the car. I had to wait until someone from my company came to pick me up. She's unbelievable.
When I arrived, I found Aiden with his head buried in his hands. He had papers all over the floor and his desk. I think stress isn't close to the state he was in. I might have to take over for a moment while he takes some time off.
I compose all of his paper work into a pile and slide it into the drawer attached to his desk.
"How'd you do that?" He asks me with his mouth agape.
I smirk. "It's my company, Aiden."
He chuckles to himself. "Oh yeah, I forgot. I still can't believe you trust me with a whole other office. This is insane."
I lean back in his chair and glare at him. "Don't make me rethink my decision. I have men in this company with more experience. You're lucky I trust you and that you're a fast learner."
He opens his mouth to say something, but closes it a second later. Smart choice.
Not even a second later, Gabi and Isabella come marching through the door with a determined look on both on their faces.
"Alright boys," Gabi shouts for whatever reason. "It's time to go."
I raise a brow at my demanding sister. "And where are we going?"
She rolls her eyes before grabbing unto Aiden's hand and I can literally see him melt at her touch. He's definelty whipped. She pulls him out of the room with not another word and follows after her like a lost puppy.
My gaze finds it's way to my beautiful wife standing in the corners smiling that heart breaking smile at me. She makes her way over to me at an agonizing slow pace. By the time she's in arms reach, I snatch her by her waist in pull her into my lap.
Not a second later, I slam my lips against hers. She responds almost immediately. She rests her hands on my chest as I wrap my her completely around her waist, leaving as little space as possible around us.
I kiss her slowly and passionately, savoring every taste and moment I can with her.
It's not rare when I get to her, but our lives are pretty hectic. With owning a popular bookstore and trying to support Carson, Isabella schedule is normally full. Now that I have to offices, I'm busier than ever. But somehow, we both find time to be with each other. I would think I'm living a perfect like excluding that dog that's probably trashing my house at this very moment. That was probably one of the worst decisions I've ever made, but it brings my wife joy every single day, so I guess I'm going to have to suck it up.
"Lucca," She says breathlessly. "I want to go see the monuments."
I roll my eyes and rest my head against her shoulder. "Babe, we see the monuments every time we come here. How about we go to a few art museums?"
She shoves me head backwards and pushes off of me, now standing in front of me. "We're going to the monuments. Now, I'll be in the car. Don't keep me waiting." And just like that, she's out of my seat.
