Chapter Four
Isabella
I'm almost halfway through my fourth month of pregnancy and I'm loving it. I just get to eat what I want, when I want to eat it and not feel guilty about it. Granted, I've never had problems with my body or the amount of food I eat. But now, I can enjoy anything edible. I haven't experienced any serve cases of morning sickness. I only suffer from it maybe two to three times a week. Surprisingly, my belly is noticeable in different shirts. If I wear a sweatshirt, or one of Lucca's, it can't really be seen unless someone is staring extremely hard. But, if I'm wearing one of my shirts, it can definitely be seen.
The downsides of my pregnancy is the overprotective Moretti clan. I try my hardest to steer clear of them. Lucca, by himself, is enough of worrying and protectiveness by himself. Now add into that Santino, Maceo, and Matteo. It's complete madness. Sofia is beyond overjoyed. She's already trying to buy stuff, but I have to convince her it's too early. After we left the hospital, Gabi has been spending every weekend with me. My mom makes it a priority to check up on me in person at least five times a week. All of the attention is kind of irritating, but I've managed to stay sane through it all.
Speaking of irritating, Carson didn't have school today and he has been mouthing off about God knows what for the past ten minutes. I'm currently laid out on the sofa trying to enjoy some quiet time with Duke, but Carson has been yapping about some players on his lacrosse team. He's the captain this season, so he's more stressed out than normal. Lucca's normally the one that listens to Carson rant on about this stufff, but my wonderful husband decided to take am "emergency trip" in the middle of the week, I have to suffer.
"Carson," I interrupt him. "I would love to hear about all of this, but I'm exhausted. Don't you have a bus to catch anyway?"
Him and his lacrosse team are having some camping trip for the entire weekend, so it's just me and Duke until Lucca shows up.
Carson rolls his eyes before sluggishly getting off of the couch. "I see I'm not wanted here. I'll just leave now."
I giggle while rolling my eyes. "Make sure you lock the door behind you!" I yell as he walks out of the living room. I hear the door shut and I snuggle into the couch, finally enjoying the quietness I've been seeking for the past few hours.
A few minutes later, I hear the door open and slam within a few seconds. Next thing I know, I feel two sets of arms wrapping around me and Gabi's perfume engulfing me.
I let out yet another groan before shoving my best friends off of me.
"Oh, Bella! Be happy." Gabi chuckles. She lifts my legs up and takes a seat and places them on her lap. Madison giggles and takes a seat across from us. "Ever since you became pregnant, you're always trying to sleep. Wake up! We're going out."
I eye her closely and cut my eyes across the room to Madison who is smiling at me innocently.
Great.
"And may I ask where are we going?"
"To New York!"
Another groan slips past my lips as I throw my head back. "Why in the world are going to New York?"
"To shop of course. You're having a baby and you haven't bought one thing for her."
I glare at her. "You don't know if I'm having a girl and last time I checked, there's places to shop in Detroit."
"She wanted to go to Paris at first, but I convinced her that New York would be fine." Madison says nonchalantly.
I turn my head slowly and stare agape at Madison. Me and her normally side against Gabi's outrageous suggestions, but now Gabi has corrupted her. "What is wrong with the both of you? I just want to lay on this couch with Duke and be a happy person."
